Mental Health - Being Brainwashed Into Being Busy & A Challenge For You to Try Out
__I remembered something I saw on a Medium blog written buy a person who you'd call young, successful and accomplished. It was also a very passionate and driven person. A company would love to hire this kind of a person. He made a confession about a certain incident. He sat down, close his eyes and was terrified and was basically panicked. What happened? Did he see monsters? Was there some guilt. did someone scared him. The sad and revealing truth is that there was nothing.__

__And that was the scary part. Sitting down relaxing while doing nothing. We talk about all sorts of brainwashing. But how much do we talk about the brainwashing to become busy. We are not supposed to slack off. We need to get out there and do stuff. We need accomplishments. BTW who the hell said that we need these things. Few centuries ago it was common knowledge that ending slavery would wreck the economy. Few decades ago, the "Food Pyramid" was the way to go for a healthy diet and we know how that ruined the health of the world. We accept some things without question because they are all around us. But nothing exists without reason.__

# A Little Experiment
__It's not good to point fingers without first going through introspection. So I tried what the very accomplished Medium blogger did. I stood in one place, closed my eyes and did nothing. I had no problems, no fears; I was just relaxed. But I wasn't in complete tranquility. It didn't reach a point of Samadhi but at times it got close. It was nice and relaxing for the mind and body for jobless me. But it seems many would have experienced something frighting.__

## Going Down The Endless River
__When you are free from the brainwashing that lead to a constant "rat race" of competition and accomplishment that isn't actually all that different from conquests of kings of early days who probably didn't have the nicest nights sleeping on their beds, you can experience thins deeper. At this point what I realized was that I couldn't keep my body still for long. I could bring myself to stillness and relax without fear. But freedom doesn't lead to discipline. I realized that I had not disciplined my body. I never came across a point in my life where I had to have such discipline.__

__Modern luxuries have taken us more and more away from discipline. I'm all for luxuries. But I'm not in a mad charade where I stay busy to buy luxuries because society says it is good. Comforts championed modern days is like a food pyramid. It will make us worse in health. It is good if we never come across moments where great bodily discipline is required. But one does not live hoping they won't encounter diseases. A good immune system is great to have anyways.__

__We try to control so many things of the world as per guidance of society that our focus is forever on the outside and never inside. Science or fitness gurus have not spent enough time researching stillness. I don't know the extent of the benefits of being able to keep absolute control over your body for over an hour. I've heard of meditating monks who sit in a single position without moving for multiple days (yes they are fasting too). Where are we compared to them and have they achieved any mental spiritual benefits because of that.__

__The "Therapists" and overall mental health industry is perfectly clueless about these things. They are more focused on labels, medication, "sessions" and all sorts of jargon and voodoo. I can only manage to remain still in control for about 5 minutes despite being able to spend ours at one relaxed with my eyes closed. It's a personal experience. You should try it yourself__

## It is We Who Have To Carry Out Research
__You can't get hurt by being in a comfortable position and trying t remain relaxed bu still with eyes closed. It'll be an experience and it may even reveal many things about you. Despite all the efforts of mental health industrial complex, the mental health is actually on a downward spiral. Ask yourself ""What if it is the stillness we have missed from life?" I don't have much of answers. but I have some very good questions.__
