The bear market may inhibit the level of participation. I am one of the players that got wrecked hard while HODLing. Marketing and influx of new players on the other hand should bring new funds.

DEC is split between Steem Monsters Corp. and SPS DAO equally. Official announcement says "Future events may overlap". __This is not a one time event.__ There will be more such events if the Pickle Shop succeeds.
