The privacy aspect isn't a major selling point as it doesn't do much compared to a privacy browser+VPN. YouTube Detox is mainly for the people who do not have the strongest will and self control. These companies employ all their data mining tricks and get neuroscientists to create the most engagement for the platform and keep your attention. Youtube Detox is a small crutch to help you fight that.
