Okra was already cultivated by the Egyptians and is an important fruit vegetable, especially in African and Mediterranean cuisine. Okra, also known as vegetable marshmallow, is annual and is rarely cultivated in Germany, which is partly due to the fact that the warmth-loving vegetables are even more difficult to grow in our regions than peppers and aubergines
