To be honest, I always have leftovers. This is because I eat too little, so I often leave food out. What often happens is that I end up with a lot of rice in my rice cooker because I can't finish it all, while the rice in the rice cooker spoils quickly. I've long felt incredibly guilty when I see that almost 65% of the waste I produce is food. It's a bad habit, but I don't know how to stop wasting food.

After feeling incredibly guilty for a long time, I finally decided to compost. This was because I only needed organic waste to make it. It aligned with my bad habits. Of course, this wasn't an excuse for throwing away food, but rather a conscious effort to reduce organic waste in landfills. According to data, the amount of organic waste in Jakarta's landfills is already so high that it once caused an explosion. Although I know my efforts are small, I can feel better because I'm not contributing to the larger amount of waste in landfills. This is one way I'm preparing to live sustainably, even though I haven't fully implemented it yet.

So, to make compost at home, I need soil. I bought the soil online. I've asked @anggreklestari about compost because she's certainly more of an expert, having made compost before. For that, I need soil.

It would be fun to be able to make compost—although I don't really know what it's for. I don't have plants. But at least, by making compost, I can reduce organic waste.

Besides that, I also need a compost bag. I also bought this compost bag online and it was recommended by a sustainable influencer, so I hope that with this compost bag, I can reduce organic waste.

The first organic waste I composted was coffee grounds and eggshells. I ground them as finely as possible, then placed them in a compost bag. Oh, and before adding this waste, I added some soil. Then, after adding the fine waste, I added more soil to cover it. After that, I closed the compost bag and placed it in a safe place.

Since composting, I've felt guilty if I don't finish my food. Therefore, even though I feel full, I try to finish it.

Anyway... Hasta La Vista...
