Dearly Beloved, 
In Luke Gospel 4:3 the Bible records that satan tempted Christ.
>And devil said unto Him, if thou be the Son of God....

We as Christians need to be warned of what satan can do. Satan can goes any length to destroy God's handwork. It's rather surprising how satan could have the gust, the effrontery, the audacity, the tenacity, the impetus, the..., I lack words to say it. But the fact is that if that dude tempted Jesus, then we are not excluded, he too can tempt us.

The same tricks he played on Eve, he is still employing same even till date. For he frequently raises questions about what God has said. He challenged Jesus "If thou be the Son of God...." he knew that Jesus was the Son of God. Brethren, I want to remind you that satan knows that once we begin to question God, it is easier to get us to do what he wants.

Fortunately or should I say unfortunately, this time around satan had more than his match in Jesus. The true Son of God. Jesus withstood him with the word of God. "It is written..." We know and Satan knows also that the Word of God is "Yes and Amen". The Word of God is the mouth of the believers, is like a hot bullet that the enemy cannot withstand. Jesus responded then and even thereafter is a great lesson to us. He did not argue with satan for Jesus knew him for who he is, the deceiver and our archenemy.

In Ephesians 6, Paul made us know that the word of God is the word of the Spirit. It is not only a weapon of defense, it is a double edged sword because it defends as well as destroys. In the Christian life, we should learn to fight against principalities and power, we must never let down our guard. 

Please beloved brothers and sisters, remember that the devil is still going around like a roaring lion seeking for whom to devour. So therefore, we must keep our guard.
