 ## The Bitcoin Logo --- **So, this one has been bugging me.** There’s a bitcoin logo that’s been floating [under Wikimedia Commons](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bitcoin.svg) since March of 2014. It has very literally spread across every corner of the internet since then. You've probably seen and shared it *thousands* of times. A mysterious user named "[Bitboy](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bitcoin.svg#/media/File:Bitcoin.svg)" first uploaded this logo. It must have been pretty exciting. After all, this was (and continues to be) the official icon of blockchain's most prolific superhero. But, behind it's golden glory lies the baggage of a dark and dirty secret. This logo has a crack in it.
