An advice given to a deaf (wo)man's ears. If you sit, wait,  hope, pray a change won't happen. Writing this it feels like I talked about this before. Most likely I did. Time for a break to reset my brain. A cold shower might help but si don't feel to it. I had a short night, my child woke me up - startled - because he couldn't find his cat. 
No, he didn't stay with me so at 5 a.m. we crawled through the house to figure out where he was hiding. 

I went outside to ask the dachshund. 
Do you know where he is? 
Woof - this means _yes_. 
I didn't see the furry ball in the rose bush. I checked because the wolf slept on the other side. I wasn't into finding a corpse early in the morning but if I had to take it away before my child would see it. Nothing.  

Yddy? 
Waf! 
The little bossy buddy had turned around and there he sat. 
I believe he had had it, staying outside the whole night afraid of the dark. He still isn't okay and didn't let me lift him which is kind of hard while I holding a happy barking Yddy with one hand. 

Don't contact him? I called my son to crawl into another bush to catch the lost one. Next I went back to bed. 
The entire day the not too long ago close to death animal slept till he finally decided to check in me. 
Always good to have a human around. A all is the perfect place to sleep, the only burden is the fly that keeps buzzing around our heads.
