"It became silent. Finally. 
At first, we were the forest it had been our home and a home for the animals. Later, much later we saw strange creatures take over the place. At first, these beings were satisfied but that didn't take long. They wanted more, way more. They cut down what they saw and felt no mercy. They spoke about caring but in reality, did nothing. We took care of ourselves and... of them."  
The bushes and young trees surrounded her and listened to what was their history. What became of their ancestors.
As the old oak paused the wind blew through her leaves. It was as if both sighed at the same time. Who knows they did since they shared the same memory. They had been present on the day it all ended, and the only survivors were left behind in a black sea of ashes.

It took years until the new forest arose. It was a colorful and special place. A place where no creature could ever live. One for plants only.
