# I'm sure most of you have watched the movie Monty Python and The Holy Grail

Back in the 70's the income tax was massive up to 90%, so no studios were willing to give the team any money.

# Who do we have to thank for these movies?
Who else but rock stars of course. 

One of the Main contributes being Pink Floyd and the money they made from their album "Dark Side Of The Moon"

Other Artists and Bands such as Led Zeppelin, Genesis and Even Elton John all helped contribute to the budget for Monty Python.

The reason they were able to get these musicians to contribute was because they all knew the Monty Python guys from their flying circus days and it was also a good way of writing off some tax. 

So the Movie raised 80 000 Pounds, 40% of the entire movies budget, the rest was gathered from private investors.

# The Movie went on to make a whopping 3 Million Pounds! 

The low budget of the film actually helped create some of their best gags, for instance they didn't have enough money to get actual horses. This is how they came up with the actors pretending to ride the horses and their faithful servants to bang two coconuts together to make the galloping noise

During the making of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the team started getting very frustrated from the press constantly asking them what their next movie will be so they began saying "Jesus Christ's Lust For Glory". Realizing they wouldn't actually be able to create this film it did lead them to the idea of their next film ["Life Of Brian"](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079470/)
