Have you ever experienced something so mind-bendingly trippy that you were left questioning reality? That's exactly what happened to me when I visited TeamLab Planet in Tokyo. Thanks to Shinya, my previous roommate who I used to live with in Vancouver. He's the one suggested the idea. This was his second time visiting as well so I was already sure it's something that's worth paying $30 for.

For those who don't know, TeamLab is a group of interdisciplinary artists and engineers who create interactive installations that combine art, science, and technology. They are absolutely incredible.. How so? Let's dive in.

As soon as I walked into TeamLab Planet, I was transported into a surreal world of colors, lights, and sound. The first installation I encountered was a dark room filled with thousands of LED lights that changed colors and patterns in response to my movements. I felt like I was floating in space, surrounded by stars and galaxies. Some rooms are filled with giant yoga balls with mirrors all around. Some room filled with real flowers hanging from the ceiling but going up and down slowly.. again, with mirror all around.

Some room with real strong water flowing on the floor like a waterfall inside the building! Crazy!

But the real highlight for me was the Flower Trippy Room. This installation was essentially a giant dome covered with screens with flower movements. Until now, I'm not sure if it was the floor moving, the whole room moving or just the screen playing with my eyes. That room made me want to puke but I can imagine it would be so good when you take mushroom and do a trip #oof

The colors were so vibrant and the patterns so intricate that it made me feel like I was tripping on acid (not that I would know what that feels like, of course).

At one point, the room started spinning around me (still not sure if I was tripping), and I had to close my eyes to avoid getting dizzy. In fact, most people lay down in that room lol

Another one that I like was the room with balls but with the red light. Photos from that part was real cool.

Even with all the overwhelming sensory input, I couldn't help but feel completely immersed in the experience. It was like nothing I had ever seen before and I would TOTALLY recommend any of you to experience this yourself. I can't explain 100% what I saw. It's just weirdly awesome.

Big plus, all photos we took (I think most people go there to do just that) are super duper COOL!
