Run fat boy, run.... The running shoes are out of the cupboard!

I'd almost forgotten what it was like to be out of breath and sweating like a mad-man.... Its been 2 months since I last managed to make it out for a short lunchtime jog, partly due to bad weather, partly due to becoming a Dad (again) and partly due to just being LAZY!!

Well I'm back in work after taking some time off to look after 1/4pint and Mrs W, so its time to get back to the grind and start working towards getting back to half marathon fitness.

I kept it short today, knowing anything longer than this would have me blowing out my arse and put me off getting back into it again. Well I was wrong on one part but right on another... Even at this distance I was blowing out my arse, but I did enjoy it and will be back out again before the weeks end.

In all honesty, the pace actually surprised me, I thought it was going to be a lot slower than that. Next time I think I'll slow the pace down but increase the distance a bit further. In the past 2 months, I've slowed by about 50 seconds per mile, but it's not just that, before I was quicker, but felt far more comfortable finishing. So not only have I lost pace because I've put on weight, but I've lost my stamina.

I'm no fitness guru, but from what I do understand from my heart rate chart is that I can still work a little harder without fear of keeling over from a massive hear attack. So that's at least some good news I can take from today's jog.

With 7 odd months left to go before the Cardiff Half Marathon, I still more than capable and busting to get on with the task of setti g a PB this year.

Keep an eye out for more running updates, where you can laugh at my poor lack of physical fitness. I may even include some photos of my sexy body next time just to keep me motivated and a record of how my body changes in preparation.
