I came across this article about the new digital reality and how things on the blockchain are looking to shake things up. It covers the area of social media and how, despite being financially successful, have not been able to reward the content makers for their work. But this is changing thanks to the blockchain. And guess what site was used as an example. That's right, steemit again. 

I have been saying this for years that the content creators need to be rewarded. It is the users who are doing the work, putting up their content and taking all the risks. If someone says something dumb it is not the social network that takes the blame but the person who posted it. And people spend a lot of time on these sites or the work that they share on these sites and I am happy that we are shifting over to rewarding them. Plus people use these sites depending on the content that is available so people are driving traffic are pivotal to a site.
