I did this a few years ago and it was fun to see everyone’s predictions. Back then we were talking about how Steem would be in the top 5 because it actually had been earlier. Now we have a much bigger gap to fill, but please share your top 10 for the end of the year, as well as where you think Hive and Leo will be.

To be fair here, there are a lot of new coins out there that I am not extremely familiar with, and some might be awesome and on the radar of those big investors but I’m looking at some larger trends in both the crypto market and the world and the fact that the top 10 can change a bit over the course of a year but usually doesn’t change drastically. 

One factor in my guesses is that I think that it’ll be increasingly difficult for newer coins to reach the same heights as some of the old ones. We are already on a scale 10x larger than a year ago and we will probably 3-5x from here. That’s crazy, and it won’t be easy to pump a coin without some major investors. 

For that reason I think the top coins will consist mostly of the old players that have partnerships with big companies, the ones connecting crypto to crypto and the ones who have the most bitcoin tied up in their business model. 

##### Here is my totally non-professional, only moderately informed guess for the top 10 at the end of 2021:

##### 1 Bitcoin
##### 2 Ethereum
##### 3 Stellar
##### 4 Cardano
##### 5 Polkadot
##### 6 Chainlink
##### 7 USDC
##### 8 Uniswap
##### 9 Vechain
##### 10 Binance
And of course
##### 11 Doge

There’s a couple of things worth mentioning. The biggest being **Tether**.  Something has to happen with that eventually and I think it’s going to happen sooner rather than later. I don’t know how it will play out, perhaps it will be the closing act on the bull market after we’ve had another massive rally?  

I think 200k is going to be our new 20k, we will get near it and then come back down to where we are now and Tether FUD would be just the thing to allow that to play out. 

If Tether fails, something will replace it. In the long term I have no idea who it could be but in the short term I’d guess the number two stable coin. I don’t think stable coins will disappear, just become heavily regulated. 

Once again, not professional advice 😛 

I see **Stellar** making a lot of partnerships and while XRP might survive, it’s reputation has been damaged among those who actually believed in it.  That money will have to go somewhere. 

**Cardano** seems like the only potential competitor to Ether since all the EOS drama though I doubt it’ll come close to overtaking it, it will probably find its place in the ecosystem?

**Polkadot** and **Uniswap** are coins that came about after I stopped checking up new coins religiously and so I don’t know all that much about them.  What I do know is that there is a whole lot of excitement. I don’t know how warranted it all is, but Polkadot seems to really have its shit together and Uniswap has made people a whole lot of money and may continue to. 

**Chainlink** is a total guess, I know there will be at least one other DeFi coin up there and they seem able to hold that place.  I really don’t know enough about them.  I think there will have to be a DeFi coin up there that is a little less Wild West than yield farming foods on Uniswap.

**Vechain** always seemed undervalued to me, I think supply chain is a use case that is going to explode at some point and they seem to be at the front of that market. 

As far as **Binance**, I just think CZ knows how to turn Bitcoin into more Bitcoin. He’s a long term HODLer and probably one of the largest bitcoin holders so I see him being able to find all kinds of stuff. They may get knocked off the top 10 sometimes but as long as he remains alive and out of trouble, I think Binance will stick around. 

And **Doge** will never die, who would let it!

#### As for Hive and Leo...
I’m trying to be realistic here so I am not putting either of these in the top 10 but I do believe Hive will make it back to the top 100 this year, along with and thanks to Leo and 3speak. 

Not sure if they will break the top 50 but I think they probably will by 2022. We have a lot more to compete with now than we did 4 years ago, but people will figure it out in the end.  I do think it will take a while. I could be wrong though...Project Blank has turned me into a full on Leo shill like the rest of you. We could become the next home of wallstreetbets and that would put us on a pretty insane trajectory. 

##### And a few others
There are a few coins I like that I don’t think will make it to the top 10 but that I’m interested in because they normalize crypto and make it part of our every day life. I’m talking about the coins like **Travala** and **Crypto.com** (or some other coin that outplays it). I want to see some people using crypto in daily life, easily and without trouble. Travala will be my next investment as soon as. I have some cash to buy it with.
