While Samsung didnt reval any technical details about planned ASIC chips we already know thagt Japanese GMO company is planning to product 7nm ASIC chips current Bitmain solutions are using 12nm chips. 7nm process gives significant boost to the mining process, less energy conspuntion and better performance at al. Another company that is trying to join mining industry is Kodak, but their business plan which requires people to borrow miners from them for 2 years will not be profitable for the customers if we take into consideration that 7nm technology node is incoming Kodak miners will be usless for bitcoin mining very soon. Right now bitmain focuses on AI chips, maybe bitmain will decide to give up on the first place in mining industry to focus more SOPHON.AI products?
