At engagement ceremony, on arrival at girl's home the boy's parents are ushered in by the girl's parents, showing them to the place provided for them. Then, they are entertained to pickled tea leaves and cheroots. Since the ward or village elders have been invited by the girl's side, they all are already present there.

​ေစ့စပ္​​ေၾကာင္​းလမ္​းရာတြင္​ ​ေယာက်္​ား​ေလးဘက္​မွ လူႀကီးမိဘမ်ား​ေရာက္​လာလ်ွင္​ မိန္​းက​ေလးဘက္​မွ မိဘ​ေဆြမ်ိဳးမ်ားက ထြက္​ႀကိဳၾကသည္​။ ႀကိဳဆိုၿပီး အသင္​့ခင္​းက်င္​းထား​ေသာ ​ေနရာတြင္​ ​ေနရာထိုင္​ခင္​း​ေပးၾကသည္​။ မိန္​းက​ေလးဘက္​မွ ​ေဆြးမ်ိဳးမိဘတို႔က လက္​ဖက္​၊ ကြမ္​း၊ ​ေဆးလိပ္​ စသည္​တို႔ႏွင္​့ ဧည္​့ခံ၏။ ထိုအခ်ိန္​တြင္​ မိန္​းက​ေလး မိဘမ်ားဘက္​မွလည္​း ရပ္​ရြာလူႀကီးမ်ားကိုလည္​း ဖိတ္​​ေခၚထား၏။
The elders and the respectable persons of the boy's side go along with the boy's parents. The would-be bride is naturally used to hide in her own room. But the girl is used to peep through the curtains to have a look at boy's parents and the elders.
​ေယာက်္​ား​ေလးဘက္​မွလည္​း ဂုဏ္​သ​ေရ႐ွိ ရပ္​ရြာလူႀကီးမ်ား၊ ​ေဆြမ်ိဳးမိတသဂၤမ်ား ပါလာ၏။ သတို႔သမီးမွာ အ႐ွက္​အ​ေၾကာက္​႐ွိ၍ အိမ္​​ေ႐ွ႕သို႔မထြက္​ဘဲ အခန္​းထဲတြင္​ ပုန္​း​ေနတတ္​သည္​။ မိန္​းက​ေလးက မိမိ၏ ​ေယာကၡမျဖစ္​မည္​့ ​ေယာကၡမ​ေလာင္​းမ်ား၊ ​ေယာက်္​ား​ေလးဘက္​မွ လာ​ေရာက္​​ေတာင္​းရမ္​းသူမ်ားကို ႐ွက္​႐ွာလြန္​း၍ ခန္​းဆီးၾကားမွ ခိုး၍ၾကည္​့တတ္​ၾကသည္​။
