Recently @jazzhero has given me access to the tools that HiveBotPH is using. If you notice the bot is down, you can ping me in discord so I can investigate and *fix it for you*. Jazz has been busy lately with real life stuff so he can't give out his 100% to the bot he made.

Recently DiscordJS released v14 but our bot is still using v12. It's a big transition and for sure, there will be breaking changes. We are planning to code from scratch and not just update the code. It's also a good opportunity to improve the code. I heard from jazz that the code has 3,000 LOC (lines of code). That's a lot actually. I'm not sure yet why but I think it can be improved. *I just hope I can really improve it.*

Aside from updating the bot to the latest DiscordJS version, we're also planning to move the bot from **Heroku** to **Google Cloud**. I don't think the bot is that big that we will be over the free tier. This is yet to be done, probably next month when I have my *own* laptop. 

*Actually I don't have a laptop right now. I just gave out my mac book to my brother who lives in the Philippines so he can use it for his thesis. Currently I am using my boyfriend's mac book so I can at least do small stuff that requires me to use a laptop. I also don't want to use my work laptop for the bot because it's the company's laptop. LOL*

*But don't worry, come October I would be ordering my new laptop. Not yet sure which of the 2 should I get, the Pro or the Air but my mind is already set to get the latest mac book. I know it's a luxury to get it, but I can't imagine myself being back to windows after I have seen the convenience of using a mac book.*

Actually I am already using Google Cloud for a sample bot I created that's using DiscordJS v14. It's just really a simple bot, nothing fancy. I was just testing out if we can use Google Cloud as an alternative to Heroku. And it seems to be going well so we'll probably put the **new HiveBotPH** in Google Cloud. 

And yessss, you read it right!

It's going to be the new bot. It's like v2 of HiveBotPH but we will be using a different name. More like a new sibling has been born. And the older sibling has to retire. 😅 At least that's what I am imagining. 

It's also a good rebranding of the bot. It still works now but we want to add more features to it. *Actually, @adamada wants to add more features. He's like my client that wants a lot of stuff.* 😂 But yeah, I also think it's good to add more features to it. *He thinks, I'll code.* Or maybe @jazzhero can help me code too. (*Don't leave me coding all alone jazz!*)

Since we're in the topic of rebranding, I haven't decided actually what the name of the *sibling* bot is. I'm in a dilemma choosing between the names **Kem-Bot** and **BatiBot**.

*Kembot* is a Filipino term that literally means shaking of the hips. Recently it's been associated with the word *twerking* so to ***kembot*** means to twerk. 

*BatiBot* is a famous Filipino TV show from the past, I forgot, 90s or maybe older. It's an educational show and its target audience are the kids, so we can learn while also being entertained. I tried checking the meaning in [Tagalog.com](https://www.tagalog.com/words/batibot.php) and it means *enduring or strong*. (*I'm a Bisaya so I don't know if this is true*). LOL

Soooo...

Can you help me decide which of the 2 names should I name the newest bot of HivePH? Of course, as I have said earlier, we want to add more features to this new bot so it's not just going to be limited to the usage of the [HivePH community](https://peakd.com/c/hive-188409/created). 

I would probably need a new logo for this bot too. I'm not artsy so I have no idea what to do with this. Probably if someone could help me with it, then great! If not, then I'll just probably look for a way to generate a cute logo.

In the next month, when I get my new laptop, I'll start working on these things so it would be a busy Autumn and Winter for me. Even if I'm here on Hive, I still have my real life goals and bucket list to accomplish so it may be a slow progress but it's *progress*. 

It's also my first time to code a discord bot and it's really an exciting thing for me. If I have questions and stuck on something, I think I'll be asking around some people here on Hive. 🙏 *yoroshiku onegaishimasu*

I'm so excited to see the new bot come to life, with more added features! Aren't you? 😅
