Thanks to the global pandemic, the *'learn a new skill during the lockdown'* preachers and my wanting to create content on hive, I have taken to baking. Not just because I love to eat or because I think I am having withdrawal syndrome due to a shortage of junk food, I really enjoy the idea of making something out of ordinary powder. *Okay I'm not gon lie, I just wanna eat sweets man.*

Cookies are one of the easiest things to bake and you really do not need so many ingredients. I've been making plain cookies and I wanted a twist so I settled for the *Swirl cookies* today. It's a cookie for sweet-tooths like myself and you'd definitely not get enough of this. Let me teach you how to make them, from one sweet-tooth to another ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

**Ingredients**

> Flour (250g)
Butter (225g)
Icing sugar (1 cup)
Buttermilk (2 tbs)
Egg (1)
Vanilla flavor (1 tsp)

**Procedure**

So first I creamed the butter and icing sugar in the mixing bowl. This is just baker English for, I mixed the butter and icing sugar. I also added the egg, buttermilk and vanilla flavor.

I then added the flour bit by bit and let the mixer do it's job.

You'd need a flat baking tray with a parchment paper placed on it. I used brown paper I usually use for sewing as my parchment paper, you can use old newspapers, any paper really.

When my batter was well mixed with a creamy consistency, I then put it in a piping tool. You can use a piping bag. All you need do at this point is swirl all the way in circular motion.

Heading to the oven now.

Bake for 10-20mins. It shouldn't be too brown though.

Swirl cookies are ready!

I always advise you eat this with a frizzy drink by the side like me or maybe with tea. You can spice up this recipe with different flavors or add coloring as you wish. Please share your cookies recipe with me.
