"He always had that pathetic smirk on his face. Nothing, absolutely nothing could wipe it off his face and that made him look even more suspicious. There was no need to get suspicious anymore because we all knew he was the one who committed all the vile murders. The intriguing part was the fact that nothing could be done about him, he seemed absolutely invincible". Annabelle kept narrating her fictional story to her younger siblings.

"I always thought that he was an innocent fella that was just going about his daily life. Many people warned me. They told me to stay far away from the man. What to do? My curiosity wouldn't let me stay far away from him. 

One day, I decided to follow him to quench my curiosity. I followed him like a detective in search of clues to a case. I made sure he didn't notice my presence. I noticed he was constantly trailing a young lady who looked wealthy. So it was like a cycle, I was trailing him and he was trailing another.

He followed the lady to a dark alley and snap! He put his hand around her mouth. The woman started screaming but there was no one around to come to her rescue except me of course. My heart wanted to help her out but my mind made it clear that I was a young, weak and feable little girl who could end up getting murdered too, so I just kept staring while trembling in fear.


He brought out some sort of white clothes and tied her mouth. He brought out a pen knife and started dissecting her stomach. She was very much alive and was going through a whole lot of pain. She watched him bring out all the organs in her stomach. It was a very terrifying and disgusting sight to behold. 

I began breathing very fast, my eyes couldn't take it anymore. One could hear me breathing from a distance. I put my hand on my mouth to reduce the sounds but to no avail. I took to my heels when I couldn't bear it anymore. I was traumatised. 


I ran home and headed straight to my room. I locked the doors but didn't switch off the light. I was very much afraid and I thought the 'spooky' man would come for me too. I cried myself to sleep that night and the next morning the death of the lady was all over the news. It turns out she was a wealthy lady like I suspected. 


From that day one, I never wanted to cross paths with that psychopath and whenever I  mistakenly did, I always tried my best to maintain my composure and remain calm.  Up until this very day, he still wanders the street searching for new wealthy victims to pounce on with a smirk on his face. That's the end of my story.

Annabelle switched on the light and saw all her little siblings trembling. It seems she had gone way past the horror line for kids. She put all of them to sleep and was about to switch off the light when one of them said…"please don't. Spooky man may come for us this night".

Annabelle smiled and said"  no he won't. He isn't even real, but I'd still keep the lights on for you". She closed the door behind her and heaved a sigh of relief. The mission of scaring her little ones was accomplished. "Good job Annabelle" she said to herself.
