I must admit that I’m getting more and more excited as we explore the Aegean. The more new places I see, the more I’ve come to admire the Aegean Coast. We began our Aegean explorations this year in March. Our first stop was Ölüdeniz, with its turquoise-colored sea. Then, in mid-April, our path led us to Marmaris. We spent three days exploring Marmaris and its surroundings. I took the photos you see above at Kızkumu Beach, located in the Orhaniye neighborhood of Marmaris district in Muğla province. My journey started at Hadrian’s Gate. As I walked beneath this gate, which has stood for nearly two thousand years, I couldn’t help but think about the countless people who had passed through these stones before me. Whenever I visit a place filled with history, I always find myself wondering who lived there, what kind of lives they had, what they ate, what they drank, and what their daily lives were like.
