- Let's get started on answering this question by going through what makes Portugal so special in my opinion.
The sea.
And also a very special place I discovered a few years ago: Lisbon.




Vamos começar a responder a esta pergunta analisando o que torna Portugal tão especial na minha opinião.

 - I wasn't expecting to get so positively surprised.  All the things I saw in Portugal made me think about the cultural richness I was missing to admire. 

 In this post I will try to answer a very common question on the internet:

- Why is Lisbon amazing?

Located in the westernmost point of Europe, the capital Libsoa is an incredible place full of history.

Eu não esperava ficar tão positivamente surpreso. Todas as coisas que vi em Portugal me fizeram pensar na riqueza cultural daquele país.

- I didn't know Lisbon had such a close proximity to awesome beaches. 
Although it isn't very much publicized as I believe it should, prior to my trip I didn't research practically anything about Portugal.

- That's why I like to travel.
- To get surprised, and get the real experience. Just like a baby who's seeing everything for the first time.

Neste post tentarei responder a uma pergunta muito questionada ao redor do mundo:

- Por que Lisboa é incrível?

Localizada no ponto mais ocidental da Europa, a capital Libsoa figura como um lugar incrível e cheio de história.

Situado às margens do rio Tejo, o monumento foi inaugurado para acesso público em 1985. Entretanto, sua inauguração oficial fora em 1960.

Como podem ver na foto abaixo, demorou 25 anos para as pessoas poderem acessar o monumento internamente.
As fotos ainda eram majoritariamente preto e branco naquela [época](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Padrão_dos_Descobrimentos#/media/File:Padrão_dos_Descobrimentos_inauguration_in_1960.jpg).

Located on the banks of the Tagus River, the monument was opened for public access in 1985. However, its official inauguration was in 1960.

As you can see in the photo above, it took 25 years for people to be able to access the monument internally.
The photos were still mostly black and white at that time.

O fato de Portugal estar localizado de frente para o mar influenciou o país a se tornar um líder na exploração marítima através dos séculos.
Para descrever Lisboa, é impossível não apontar suas paisagens maravilhosas de frente para o mar. Uma delas fica em torno do "Padrão dos Descobrimentos".
