I really cannot find the words to express how grateful I am. I received a lot of supportive and helpful comments and messages about [my plan to buy a sailboat](https://hive.blog/life/@xplosive/see-how-hive-is-changing) to live on it. This is really inspirational and motivational.

I also started to watch YouTube videos (okay, rather their comment sections) about this, and I received even more encouragement.

There is this YouTube video called [Your First Sailboat - How to buy a small sailboat](https://youtu.be/InDqbmvZQjs).

It has some very good comments. First of all about the prices of the boats. For example people buying sailboats for $1000 USD and $1500 USD.

I looked at some of the advertisements, and there are indeed some of the boats sold at these prices.

For example I took a look at the above mentioned Maxi 80 Racer, and I found  one on [Boats-From](https://boats-from.co.uk/not-specified/maxi-80-26ft-sailing-yacht-104441) for £870 GBP, which is currently $1193.89 USD.

Of course I am also considering/taking into account the costs of the maintenance, and based on my initial calculations, I can say that the annual maintenance of a small sailboat is much cheaper than my current rent.

I continue watching videos, and reading comments about sailboats.
