Words like terrorists and naxalites are associated with very specific regions in India. But what if whole country is infested with terror-mongers? What is the state of mind of its common man? To me, it looks like our society as a whole is psychologically unwell. Most crimes are results of sick mindset. Crimes are just the symptoms of our sick society. They are the tip of the ice-berg. Most people in the society seems mentally unhealthy to some level. In past, we have seen several incidents of mob lynching and killing of Muslims on the pretense of possession of beef. But the current incident of mob lynching in Gurugram in the National Capital Territory region is impossible for me to even understand the attackers' mentality! If you're not aware of it, [I'm talking about this news](https://www.indiatoday.in/crime/video/muslim-family-thrashed-for-playing-cricket-on-holi-asked-to-go-to-pakistan-in-gurugram-1484645-2019-03-23?jwsource=cl) * This Muslim family was attacked by an armed mob of 20-25 people without any sensitive issue like beef or communal riots. * The incident happened in the broad day light. * It happened on the day of Holi festival when everyone is in joyful mood of celebrations. * And it was not some deserted place but the criminals barged right into the family's home and attacked every member. * Forget about women, young children aged 5-6 years or even toddlers were not spared. * Weapons like swords, sticks, rods etc. were used. * The festival where one plays with colours was actually played with blood. * There was no motivation for attack or any past dispute. It's heart breaking to see the state of mind of these attackers who pulled out the children hiding in almirah and under the bed and mercilessly beat them. Here are some parts of the videos that a girl from the victim's family dared to record during that half an hour ordeal:
https://youtu.be/Q1bBTYOiT54
Not only this, the family shouted for help to their neighbours but no one came to help despite listening to them crying for help. Till today, I don't see any strong actions or statements from the Government to condemn this incident and extend help to the family. The family is being compelled to move out of that locality and they will have to sell off their property at throwaway prices as the locality is predominantly Hindu. So the family is feeling very unsafe there. But what place is safe in this nation? Why can't a family feel safe in any locality? Why all people involved in this attack have not been arrested still! As per the news, only one person has been arrested so far. Shouldn't neighbours who didn't came forward to help also be arrested for the crime? I see them silently complicit in the crime. Something is seriously wrong with the present day society. All crimes, terror attacks, rapes and murder are merely the symptoms of a sick society ...the root of the disease is deeper and many people in the society have tendency towards heinous crimes. Sometimes I think whole social structure that we created has failed and we need to design a new society from scratch. Present social structure is beyond any repair now! * **What do you think needs to be changed?**
