I am reading posts on Steemit when I was interrupted by kids who requested we make pancakes.

Kids love pancakes. So on this fine afternoon, because of boredom and they, according to them, were already starving", i gave in to their request that we make pancakes.

To make our pancake-making fun, we decided to take on a challenge which is to create some "art" out of it. It was a challenge between me and the two kids.  We are to judge each other's works. Now guess who won?

Being a Steemian, i remember ed the words of Sir Terry @surpassinggoogle ["hotcake posts"](https://steemit.com/steemit/@surpassinggoogle/ulog-see-how-many-various-paradigms-can-be-coded-in-simple-looking-steemit-post-to-understand-how-much-goes-into-a-steem-based), so I made one especial pancake for him with.

Since we do not have a icing bag, we just put the pancake batter in an ice bag.

Next, I have to demonstrate to the kids how to do it.

Now, it is their turn. I have to assist them and asked them to be careful so they will not be burned in msking their own pancake art.

Flipping the pancake is the hard part, especially with "abstract" pancake. But allow the pancake to form "bubbles" before flipping it.

Next is putting on syrup. They opted for strawberry syrup.

Their pancake looks really abstract. They said that they love what they did and what they made are just 
too cute to be eaten. Seriously? lol.

My nephew said he made spongebob, and my little one said she made a cute puppy. 

They further said that I should use my imagination to be able to "see" what they made. There was no way I can figure out which is which. 

But as for me, I successfully made "SG"! Yahoo!

#### Disconnected but Connected
Having a moment with the kids is really heartwarming. It was a welcome interruption to my online life. 

Nevermind, that I have not reviewed any call, or not answered any survey or upvoted any post or have not posted anything yet on Steemit. Nevermind, that I loose a few minutes from mining bitcoins. 

Still, I feel rewarded. I got connected with the kids. It  leaves a warm feeling seeing them happy and yes, I get to become a kid again.
