This poem is in response to @thewritersblock's [Writing Prompt](https://steemit.com/poetry/@thewritersblock/the-writers-block-poetry-contest-4-results-and-contest-5):

"Write a poem in two sections about two completely different things. Have the title link both items somehow."

I.
Sudden intimacies between unknowns
singular looks that affect us strangely:

the mute cries of souls in distress
glimpses into houses in disarray

searching, imploring regards
of existential curiosity

wells deep and guileless
clear to their very depths

or eyes untrained and unguarded
transmitting unbridled yearning
measuring our distances

like twin stray stars
lost in some inner space
flashing an eerie light.

II.
Imagine, if we stopped migrating birds at the border...
Said, *No, this stretch of sky, sea and land is out of order*
*Can you perch somewhere else, please?*
*Perhaps, in your native trees?*</center>
