I wish to give back to the Steemit community and provide an avenue for new users to participate and earn using steemit. Secondly, I wish to introduce more unique content on Steemit from more users than the present standard compliment. These are cryptocurrencies, photo, art, politics or being a good, experienced blogger/writer, this is my opinion, correct me if I'm wrong. ***  As we all know, there have been many new users lately and this is great for the platform. The downside of this is that new users have a hard time getting in the game unless they can afford to buy in. While I'm not implying that new users should have it easy because they're new, I do believe the success of Steemit does rely, in some part, on building a larger user base. *** When I joined Steemit, I got 25 steem power, last I checked, a new user gets 0.5 steem power. - *** As a new Steemian, I was lucky to be able to enter [openmic](https://steemit.com/openmic/@luzcypher/steemit-open-mic-37-record-your-performance-on-your-phone-enter-and-win-steem-sponsored-by-pfunk-and-luzcypher) and earn some relatively easy rewards, which was luck because I happened to be a very, very amateur musician with a guitar. I consider that a very lucky break and while I'm not a big success, I can see how a new user will have some trouble climbing the ropes unless they possess specific talents. I started a contest that only requires a person to share their treasured interests, skills and talents, whatever they may be. I think these will be a good addition to the Steemit database. My intention is to grow over time while giving new users the opportunity to participate and EVERYONE has what it takes to enter. I have a lot of faith in Steemit as a social media platform and cryptocurrency, I want to be a part of its growth. I am also interested in the life stories and interest of average people like myself. People who may see Steemit as an opportunity to change their lives or express themselves or learn new things, like I do. *** Throughout my life, I have never been the most talented or trendy, however, I do have interests and so does everyone else. I wish to see more people, with regular, average lives, put content on the site. I wish to create an environment where everyone can share their interests and be rewarded and appreciated. I think that this drive will also guide new users into creating real content, about unique topics, a skill that will be beneficial to Steemit and to themselves. *** I realize that people may be confused about what they should enter. The short answer to that is anything, I will provide an example of me doing something I enjoy doing, a skill I think I have that no one really notices or cares about.
