Global warming? Climate change? There is a belief that these two terms mean the same thing. However, when I reviewed the literature and listened to several lectures by my **university friends**, specialists in the area of Biology, Marine Biology, Ecology and other spheres related to environmental issues, I discovered that they cover edges that, although different from each other, are an indivisible part of each other.

Global warming is related to the progressive increase of the earth's temperature, causing the climate system to be altered, generating what we know as climate change. There are many explanations for its causes, but what is undeniable is that the hand of man has a large part of the responsibility in the face of these phenomena.

The truth of the matter is that every day we can see the ravages of climate change and global warming... In places where there were fertile lands or they are shown to be desert and affect their ecosystem. Strong droughts, extinction of species, pollution of the seas, floods...

But what can we do to help control this situation? Maybe our attempts are very small, but if we all try, we could have a clear conscience that we are trying.

You probably don't need to use your car to go to the supermarket, start by encouraging yourself to walk to your destination. The less you use transportation, the less carbon dioxide is produced. I have seen people in my community use their cars to go to the supermarket and it is very close.

Be aware when you wash your clothes, we know that technology has advanced a lot and we would love to have a dryer, but if you use it less, by putting your clothes to dry in the sun, you will also avoid controlling global warming and, consequently, climate change.

Reuse or recycle what you can, especially if it's water... don't spill it unnecessarily. That water you use to wash your car can probably be used for something else in your home. It's sad to see water wasted unnecessarily. In the city where I live, many car washes were opened and it was seen as a waste of water. Many shut them down, others don't take into account the warnings.

Most importantly, get involved in activities that allow you to raise awareness of this issue. From the educational spaces, we have a subject called Environmental Education and, although now it is not taught as it should be, for a long time outdoor activities were promoted, talks to raise awareness among students, tree planting days, waste collection days and many other things.

Being part of these activities will create awareness in future generations and they will have a more balanced planet where they can live in peace.</div>
