Les traigo la obra musical de una genial compositora, que ha recogido las páginas de la historia de la música cubana. Cuenta la historia de la educación cubana, que Dagmar Teresita Junco Reyna es una musicóloga pinareña, que es portadora de un rico acervo en la formación de muchas generaciones y resalta ésta con un actuar, que contribuyó a sistematizar la herencia y el pensamiento pedagógico nacional, así como su aporte a la práctica pedagógica, todo ello en aras de una mejor preparación para la sociedad y la vida en general. Tere, como cariñosamente le conocían todos, comenzó sus estudios de la mano de Esther Ferrer, quien guió su insipiencia en el teclado, para más tarde estrenarse como directora de coros, en cuya tarea se empleó a fondo. Cantó bajo la guía del insigne maestro Manuel Ochoa y fue alumna de los mejores profesores de Solfeo, Armonía y Contrapunto, así como de Historia de la música, en el conservatorio hoy llamado "Amadeo Roldán", dejando en todos la huella de una genuina interpretación, de depurada técnica y creatividad. Desenfadadamente, incursionó por cuanta experiencia pudiera enriquecerla, amén de los prejuicios estilísticos; de esta manera acompañó a instrumentistas y cantantes de variados géneros, disfrutando de la música popular de Cuba y del mundo. Fue, igualmente, miembro de agrupaciones de cámara, así como percusionista, por varios años, en la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, dirigida por excepcionales directores orquestales cubanos y extranjeros. Actuó en diferentes países de Europa y América Latina, tales como Rusia, Hungría, España, México, Venezuela, Estados Unidos y Londres. Fue jurado de concursos nacionales e internacionales. Impartió cursos sobre la interpretación de la música cubana y del repertorio internacional en la Escuela de Música de la UNAM, México; en la Escuela de Bellas Artes y el Instituto de Cultura y Arte de Santo Domingo, en Venezuela, Estados Unidos, Londres, así como en Cuba. Siempre con una sonrisa en sus labios, con una pasión desenfrenada por la tierra que la vio nacer y crecer. Tere fue y será una figura de clase mundial, digna de ser llamada por muchos Madre de la escuela cubana de piano. Y como premio mayor, en esta isla generosa, pudo entrar al catálogo restringido de las familias portentosas de la música, pues contrajo matrimonio y tuvo descendencia de López Gavilán.
