 A Pegasus Airlines Boeing 737 passenger plane hangs precariously on a cliff edge after skidding off the runway on landing at Trabzon airport last night. There were 168 people on board. No injuries were reported. One passenger described the terror on board as, "[The plane] ... swung to one side and [the] back of the plane moved upwards. There was panic, people were screaming." Another passenger called it a "miracle" the plane became wedged in the mud. It is being suggested that icy/rainy conditions had played a part in the incident but a local officials will conduct an official inquiry. Due to the rugged terrain Trabzon airport was built on reclaimed land from the sea. These passengers are very lucky the sea did not claim them. The airport was closed until this morning.
