There are times in life when we go bankrupt, and those times are full of struggles.
I've been through those times several times, and I've also managed to overcome them by God's grace and hard work.

The first time I saw and understand the effects of bankruptcy was when my dad passed away.
That year, around 2013, was filled with hustle and struggle.
During that time, my mom was always sick but still managed to take care of us, we knew it was time to assist her , so we began helping her raise income by hawking some items at the market.

The most difficult time in 2013 was when my dad's burial date was fixed. I watched my mom grew lean and out of shape; her health condition worsen ,and some families and friends were no where to be found.
To make matters worse, she was banned from working by my father's family, as it was considered a taboo or sacrilege until my dad's burial was over.

my siblings and I knew it was time to act; we couldn't just let my mom die from overthinking. So we hawked to earn some income, saved up some money, and gave it to our mom.

Those hard and difficult times felt unending, but we made our shoulders available for our mom, and thankfully, those difficult times eventually ended.

The second time I realized the different levels of bankruptcy was when I became pregnant with my first baby and also after the delivery.

When I got pregnant , I had to leave my job and search for a better job as the first Job was considered hectic for my condition and my husband's business wasn't moving as usual.

Things were tough, and I couldn't find a lighter job.
I searched for jobs but couldn't find any with a better salary, so I decided to take the available one, even though it offered a poor salary that wasn't enough for feeding, let alone saving. But I persevered.

My husband was also doing his best at that time, but both of our efforts weren't
enough.
We had to plan carefully and only spend on necessities like food.

After delivery, we encountered the EndSARS protests and COVID-19 outbreak.
All businesses were shut down, and all sources of income were cut off.
Things became difficult, and to make matters worse, there was no one to help, as everyone was going through the same ordeal.

We had to rely on our small savings and our farm, where we had some vegetables and fruits,
We also had to also shift out focus away from the problem at hand and concentrate on the little things that brings happiness.

I would always look at my baby, smile and say to myself ,"Things are getting better".

And thanks to God Almighty, things improved and my husband's business began doing better than before.
Over time, I started a small business, which helped us a lot. Today, I feel blessed for not giving up or doing anything illegal.

Thanks for reading till the end.
