Travelling to Cyprus. Mysterious trees and shrubs of that island
Recently I have published an article about the fauna of Turkey. There I exposed some pictures and told a little about those plants which names are more or less known to me. In the comments, someone even told me. And recently, returning from a trip to Cyprus, and began to sort out the photos taken there of bushes and trees and was surprised to find that among them there are many of those about which, to my shame, I do not know anything.

That's about oranges and tangerines know everything. They grow in Cyprus in many places, even along the alleys of parks and streets. But what about the kumquat and calamancina, if we have these strange citrus seldom sell.

In Cyprus, and this is all enough. Overripe fruits here fall directly on the asphalt and no one is, even local animals and birds. But in our hotel, for example, grew lemons, well, let me tell you a secret, we have them in the evening, tore and cut his tea. Very tasty!

The next picture is a very interesting tree. When my daughter saw aawsa on top of a huge fruit-pods, she assumed it was cocoa beans. Of course, it's not them, but outwardly quite reminiscent.

The leaves on the tree similar to the poplar, but the flowers, like lilies of the valley gipertrofirovannyy a bit brownish or greenish color. Very strange plant...

It's cactus. Of course, who would argue? Very similar to this growing up I used to have a pot at home. Here are just thorns on my looked just like a little clinging to the hooks. He put his finger on it and did not tear it away from the plant. On the Cyprus cactus flourishes the report was not. It must be a different sort. Really planted shrub plants were right next to the bench. Sit down, dear guests, only... don't miss the soft spot.

Something tells me I took a picture of the immature olives. Then, in may, these trees partially bloomed, and in some places already formed here such young fruits. Not sure about that, but maybe I will come here late in the summer, it could break and taste the fruit.

This plant was tall, resembling a cypress or a thuja, but I was confused by the fruits. At TUI they dlinnenkie, light-selenia, and then the color is quite different and shape too. From afar reminds immature blueberries. Try not ventured. You never know!

And these strange shaped fruits hung on trees with elongated leaves. Not even close to assuming what it is. Nothing like this is growing in our country. But it is beautiful, very picturesque in form, though draw!

Here something tells me that there asenal the same tree that the previous picture, but in the stage of flowering and early fruit formation. Look how beautiful it is!

We could see cones on a pine only in the territory of National Park. Since the whole of Cyprus is almost no trees, then there is just the place where they are protected and cherished. Local pine trees are very low, maybe they are just young and have not grown. Grow along the slope on the high Bank. The place is beautiful and a lot of birds.

I took a picture of this tree in the National Park. But he has no hard needles and it is even lower than the local pines. It's almost a Bush. And not like that Bush or kipas, nor the fifth, nor on pine. And the fruit there - like spiked small bumps, the size of peas.

The next picture I took with a great approximation. This is some kind of grass. But not the moss. If you consider close, then rasteniya like a tree in miniature, there are twol and twigs and tiny leaves. Beauty... and also unknown to me by name. Eh!

*In the article I collected only herbs, bushes and trees. But I have a lot of very unusual flowers that I photographed, traveling to Cyprus. Be sure to put it in one of next posts. Follow the publications in my blog!*
