Amur bridge.  The section of the Amur remained unaffected, which interrupted the metal strips of the Trans-Siberian Railway.  There was only a temporary crossing: in summer - by ferries, in winter - on rails laid directly on the river ice.

 The engineers thought about the technology of building the bridge twenty years before the actual construction.  As a result, outstanding bridge builders and scientists in the field of structural mechanics took up the creation of the project: Lavr Dmitrievich Proskuryakov and Grigory Petrovich Perederiy.
