***  *** Hello friends We meet again to lose ourselves in the pages of a book. Today I propose reconnecting with the literature written for children that has won the coveted Little Prince National Children's Literature Award. I want to invite you to skip over the lines of the 2008 short story award. Author Amalia Santos Bouza, who holds a degree in Physical Education and lives in Havana, has other publications such as Tales of the Mouse Tona and the Mousetonton, and her fiction works have been published in major magazines across the country. ***  *** *Journeys to the Dwarf Star* is the book that presented the Little Prince award, from Amalia's perspective. Published by Sanlope Publishing, the publisher of this contest. That year, the jury was composed of Omar Felipe Mauri, Esteban Llorach Ramos, and Jorge Luis Peña Reyes. The cover design and interior illustrations were done by a prominent illustrator from our country, also renowned among cartoonists, Arístides Hernández, Ares. The edition was well done, like every one she produced. I'm talking about Mama Sanlope, or as her original name would have been, Mirtha Beatón. ***  *** I'm going to confess something: I saw the book, and the cover never caught my attention. I didn't dismiss it, but I wasn't interested in reading it, and now it hurts to know that. Since I read it, I've been thinking that it's not a book for children, it's for parents. It's a book where we can decipher the loneliness our children sometimes feel, even when we're at home. I know that being an adult brings many responsibilities and chores around the house, but it also brings children to us, and they didn't ask us to come into the world. It showed me that children also have tastes, preferences, decisions, and opinions, and that these must be taken into account. Sometimes we do things for them that we think are best, but they aren't happy with our decisions. We really do them for ourselves. ***  *** The child in this story, divided into 12 stories or chapters, tells us about experiences that could happen to any child. For example, coming to school with his homework undone because he needed help from an adult, and no one at home could help him because they were busy with adult tasks, even if it meant making dinner for everyone. The boy who misses his grandfather because he was the only one who spent time with him, but that grandfather has already died. The older brother who abuses and mocks the younger one, like the law of the mightiest. The protagonist reflects the loneliness of a child. His age is not specified, but because he is so alone and feels the need for company, he has found an imaginary friend, a goblin, and takes him on a trip to the dwarf star so he can forget his sadness there. ***  *** For Alegre, the goblin in this book, it is forbidden to be sad. Then it helps the child overcome sad moments, including their parents' divorce. I was able to learn things I didn't remember as a child, things that only children feel and sometimes don't dare to tell us out of fear. ***  *** We should all have a book like this nearby. We could understand so many things about our children. Hoy les propongo reencontrarnos con la literatura escrita para los niños y que han obtenido el tan codiciado Premio nacional de literatura para niños Principito. Quiero invitarlos a saltar sobre las líneas del premio del año 2008 en cuento. La autora Amalia Santos Bouza, quien es Licenciada en cultura física y reside en La Habana, cuenta con otras publicaciones como son Cuentos de la ratona Tona y el ratontontón, además que obras suyas de narrativa están publicadas en revistas muy importantes dentro del país. ***  *** *Viajes a la estrella enana* es el libro que nos entrega el premio Principito desde las manos de Amalia. Publicado por la editorial Sanlope que es quien convoca este concurso. Ese año el jurado estuvo compuesto por Omar Felipe Mauri, Esteban Llorach Ramos y Jorge Luis Peña Reyes. El diseño de cubierta y las ilustraciones interiores las realizó un importante ilustrador de nuestro país, además reconocido entre caricaturistas, su nombre es Arístides Hernández, Ares. La edición estuvo bien hecha como cada una que ella realizaba, les hablo de mamá Sanlope o como se llamaría en su nombre original Mirtha Beatón. ***  *** Les voy a confesar algo, yo veía el libro y por la cubierta nunca me llamó la atención, no lo menosprecié, pero no me interesaba leerlo y ahora saberlo me duele. Desde que lo leí estoy pensando que es un libro, más que para niños, es para los padres. Donde podemos descifrar la soledad a veces de nuestros hijos, aunque estemos en la casa. Sé que ser adulto trae muchas responsabilidades y tareas en la casa, pero también nos trae a los hijos, y ellos no nos pidieron venir al mundo. Me dejó ver que los niños también tienen gustos, preferencias, decisiones, opiniones y que hay que tenerlas en cuenta. A veces hacemos cosas por ellos que pensamos es mejor, sin embargo, ellos no son felices con nuestras decisiones. Realmente las hacemos por nosotros. ***  *** El niño de esta historia, dividida en 12 cuentos o capítulos, nos narra vivencias que les puede estar sucediendo a cualquier niño. Por ejemplo, llegar con la tarea sin hacer a la escuela porque necesitaba la ayuda de un adulto y ninguno en casa lo pudo atender por estar en cosas de adultos, aunque fuera haciendo la cena para todos. El niño que extraña a su abuelo porque era el único que le dedicaba tiempo, pero ese abuelo ya murió. El hermano mayor que abusa del menor y se burla, como la ley del más fuerte. En el protagonista se refleja la soledad de un niño, no especifica edad, pero al estar tan solo y sentir la necesidad de compañía se ha conseguido un amigo imaginario que es un duende y lo lleva de paseo a la estrella enana para que allá se olvide de las tristezas. ***  *** Para Alegre, el duende de este libro está prohibido estar triste. Entonces ayuda al niño a superar los momentos tristes incluido el divorcio de los padres. Pude aprender cosas que ya no recordaba de niña, cosas que solo los niños son quienes la sienten y a veces no se atreven a decirnos por temor. ***  *** Todos deberíamos tener un libro así cerca. Pudiéramos entender muchas cosas de nuestros hijos.
