How to improve teamwork in pandemics
### Hello friends to the Project Hope community!

<div class="text-justify"> As we already know, the routine in our homes, with our families, friends and neighbors has changed significantly, including our jobs. We have had to learn during this last year to find another way to perform and fulfill our activities, so the way of living and working is now very different. Speaking specifically about the labor field, it is difficult for companies and their leaders to continue with the same strategies they used before, since as a consequence, many organizations may fail and close down if they do not try to adapt to the new changes we are facing. However, it has been observed that many people have preferred to work from home and independently as long as possible.

On the one hand, companies have had to face the challenge of continuing their operations despite the situation and meeting the needs of their employees. Given the circumstances, they must guarantee their employees' safety and security, as it is inevitable that they will feel concern for themselves, their families and also for their economy, especially in this country.

Perhaps the leaders of the companies in the beginning with such an uncertain situation did not have the answers to so many concerns on the part of their employees and were faced with the fear of managing their work teams from afar and the scenario of resuming activities. All this perhaps was not and has not been easy, since in spite of everything you must keep control under this scheme, so it is important to stop and evaluate how the organization currently operates and thus seek the best way to meet the priorities of workers and at the same time that the company continues to operate.

I believe that the first thing to take into account is that many people have experienced the change of having to do their work at home, that they are no longer surrounded by their colleagues and perhaps do not perform the same activities, which can generate some emotional upheaval and this is key to their good performance. Hence the importance of the team leader is concerned about maintaining and promoting emotional well-being, commitment and motivation among all employees through communication, empathy and trust.

Now, from my experience, as a university teacher I am facing the challenge of continuing my work with my team, in this case my group of students from a distance, at the beginning it was not easy for me, to guide the students in the academic area, to be in frequent contact with them by different means, to understand their realities, in short. However, I have fulfilled my activities and I am constantly in search of tools that allow me to achieve my goals. That is why, here I show you some tips for a better management of remote teams that as we can see can be adapted in different areas.

As a first step, leaders must ensure that the organization is on the same path, that is, that all members of the organization are aware of the current challenges and identify the priorities, clearly define the objectives and the extent to which they can be achieved. It is necessary to be clear on the points discussed and stay connected, otherwise the lack of communication can lead to the generation of problems.

On the other hand, the activities that were previously carried out were totally face-to-face, and that has totally changed, which has affected the dynamics of the teams and organizational effectiveness, so the leader must ensure that their workers have the necessary tools, technology and provide the training they require to perform their work if it is done from home, if the virtual distance can slow workers in their work must take corrective measures in time to stay on track to achieve the objectives set.

It is inevitable that employees feel worried and this may cause them anxiety, so it is important to maintain closeness, being empathetic and making them feel understood. It is important to be flexible, look for ways to keep the work team motivated, practice recognition for the work done and for the achievements reached in the company. It is advisable to make video calls to feel more connected instead of a simple message in the mail or WhatsApp.

Finally, despite the circumstances and the fact that we do not know how much longer we will live in this situation, organizations must promote constant learning and the search for new ways or strategies to face the challenges they face.

_Every day we are presented with new challenges, we must move forward, and try to find ways to achieve good teamwork._

### See you next time!
