Facebook is working on it's new feature "expiring friend requests" that will disappear friends request automatically after 14 days if you do not respond to it. 

This new feature is going to make life a little bit easier to those users who actually gets a lot of unwanted friend requests, as it will automatically delete those friend requests that you already saw but have not deleted them.

If you did not know there is already a feature on facebook that allows users to have only 5,000 friends in their account and after which you do not receive any friends requests and those requests then automatically turns into your followers. 

Well currently this feature is in testing phase and only available to a handful of users and not to everyone. But do not worry as soon the testing phase is over it will soon be available to everyone worldwide.
