Hello and welcome to my blog

This blog post promise to be an interesting one. Sit back and read through.

We are in a world of openness, everything we do is now open, there are no restrictions. This has both a positive and negative effect. Many users prefer the open-world where you know almost all the information about the other individual, others cherish their privacy, they don’t want intruders to know what is going on with them. This set of people even go the extra mile to ensure that.

Mobile phones are used every day, we give others our phones to check one or two things. Humans are different, some will stick to what they want to check while others will start checking other aspects of the phones in a bid to get one or more information about the user.

Mobile phones running on the Android OS possess just a layer of security by default. That is the home screen lock. You can set your desired lock type that will prevent a user from accessing your phone. Once you unlock the phone for them to use they have free access to any part of the phone.

This is why most user desire to use other third parties application to provide another layer of security.

Introducing AppLock

AppLock is an open-source Android application that focuses on users privacy. It prevents unauthorized access to applications locked by the device owner. It possesses a host of features that make it the ideal third-party application to protect your device.

Some of the features include

No ads

Source
Ads can be annoying. You are using an application and suddenly an advertisement banner pops up making you click it in. It will automatically redirect you to the advertisement webpage or app meaning you have to navigate back to your original app.

This is a bad user experience. I dislike applications that serve ads and that’s the reason I prefer AppLock. With no ads served, I enjoy using the application seamlessly. Compared to other similar applications that serve ads, AppLock has none and that is one of the top reasons I utilize it on a daily basis.

No tracking

The truth is, advertisements are served to users based on their online activities. This means one way or the other users are being tracked. With AppLock not having an advertisement, I am safe with the knowledge that I am not tracked and my personal details are safe. The application is all about increasing my privacy thus tracking user activity will be a red flag. It is one of the few lock applications that truly care about real privacy and that’s the reason I use it. I can’t be trying to increase my privacy while jeopardizing my personal details. It defeats the initial solution.

System apps and User apps Lock.

This is one of the major reasons I use AppLock. I am able to lock not only the applications I downloaded but also lock my phone system applications. AppLock possesses a comprehensive list of system applications that can be locked. From the phone settings to the camera, and the messages I can lock them all. What is the function of an app Locker that can’t keep your messages, settings, and email safe? An app Locker that can only lock user applications but not system applications is useless and that is common with most app lockers.

This is why I stuck to AppLock. I am safe with the knowledge that you can’t go on and read my emails or text message without my permission, you can’t view my call logs or use my device settings without my permission. I have seen instances where user A thinking he has locked the device discovered that his data has been exhausted. With no settings lock available in his choice of app Locker, User B easily open the settings and navigated to his device hotspot where he was able to connect and exhaust his data. It’s hilarious but it’s true. It happens

Simple user interface

After advertisements, having a poor user interface is the next annoying thing I dislike. I hate spending hours trying to navigate and understand what each feature is used for. AppLock is not like that. It is very simple to understand, there are no jam-packed features. Everything is clean and crisp. I was able to understand all the features in minutes.

Conclusion

AppLock is way ahead of other similar apps. Giving an ad-free application with the required functions is one big advantage AppLock has over others. It gives true privacy. The fact that the application is able to lock other system apps without the need to either upgrade or pay for additional feature makes it the ideal app Locker for any privacy-conscious user.
