<div class="text-justify"> Monday! The name alone connotes anxiety and stress. Mondays are my least favorite day of the week. Could this be because it comes right after the weekend? Everyone looks forward to Friday. That's why we have the catchphrase "Thank God it is Friday". Weekends are always enjoyable and relaxing. Two days off from work obligations. You get up when you want to, do chores at your own pace, have time to spend with loved ones and friends, and can decide to do whatever you want, whenever you want, without any boss breathing down your neck or looming deadlines to meet. I've tried numerous times to figure out why Monday is always the busiest day of the week. As for me, I always clear up my desks every Friday before going home, but Monday comes with lots of paperwork, and I wonder if I spent Friday gallivanting and not working. Mondays are the busiest days for traffic in Lagos. Human and vehicular traffic. You'd wait for hours at the bus stop because everyone is rushing to beat the traffic and get to work on time. On Mondays, transportation fares are always higher. When you arrive at work, there are never-ending meetings that do not take into consideration the fact that there is a mountain of work to be done. After the meetings, the files on the tables must be attended to, and one boss is sitting in his air-conditioned office, dispatching you on various errands while expecting you to finish everything you have to do. On your way back, the traffic is still waiting to embrace you. You grumble all day and get home exhausted, wondering why you have to be an adult. Thankfully, as the days go by, it gets easier. A perfect Monday for someone who loves being indoors would be a Monday spent indoors. On Monday morning, I will wake up at my own time and not bother to have my bath first before I open my computer. I'll work from home in my pyjamas. I'll request that the office send me the files I need to work on. I'll use video calls to communicate with my boss and dispatch all necessary errands. I'll have time to watch Netflix and relax while I work on my computer. There will be no traffic, no pollution of the air, and no noise. I'll be alone at home, working at my own pace. I might even take a nap or two. After all, there is no one there to report me. But I am not sure a perfect Monday can exist. If I work from home on Monday, I'll be so relaxed that I'll be dreading the next day. Tuesday will become Monday for me. The typical Monday cycle will continue. To that end, rather than attempting to create a perfect Monday for myself, I'll look for ways to make Monday easier on myself, such as making the most of my weekend by going to bed early on Sunday night so I can wake up early on Monday morning and beat the traffic. Unfortunately, I have no control over my workload at work, but with some nice music blasting through my earphones, I'll happily get it done. </div>
