I recently published a [post](https://peakd.com/hive-112484/@alokkumar121/army-of-crypto-exploring-the-playtoearn-game-on-onix-blockchain) about [Army of Crypto](https://armyofcrypto.com/) aka AOC game which is a new [web3](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-3-0) game. I got to know about this game after the collaboration with [LeoFinance](https://leofinance.io/) and we got a new community created for this game as well on Hive. This is great because now we can get to see a lot of content about the game as well as we have the option to share our thoughts and opinions and anything that we want to share with the Community through their page. I can see a lot of people sharing the content on their page which is good and I believe over time this will continue to grow. As I already shared in my last article that the game looks good based on the concept and token economy including the blockchain and some digital assets that they are offering through packs. They have got three types of packs. The essential pack cost $20 whereas the legendary pack cost $300 so it's up to you how much you want to invest in the game to start with and needless to say that if you invest more then you are going to get more benefits down the line.

I have been going through the game for the last couple of days to understand more about the project and how it works. It is built on the [blockchain](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/blockchain) which is quite new for most of us but I believe in any project the major and important part is the concept and team. I joined their discord server and was amazed to see that they have got an active community and the team is also working hard to bring more value to the game. Social presence is very important to bring more attention to any project these days and I'm glad to say that the AOC team is focused on that and I'm sure they will be able to bring more value to the project through such initiatives. They also do live streaming as we see on splinterlands and this is another good thing that I like about the game.

### I have invested & joined the game

I'm happy to share that now I am the user of the game as I have invested and purchased some packs. I have got whitelisted as well because there was a requirement to buy at least six packs which I did and now I'll be able to get the benefits that will be provided to the users that are whitelisted. There will be some additional benefits to the people who are whitelisted in the game and I look forward to seeing what I'm going to get in future but I'm excited about it. we know that the project is in alpha mode which means there is a lot to be built and improved. this game has been launched recently and in this short period, I can see a lot of people joining the game which is good because they like the concept and that is something that matters the most in any project.

@TreyTrillionaire has been a great help and he answered all my questions. It is obvious that in the beginning before joining any project, we get a lot of questions to ask and I had many. I asked all these questions to him and he answered every question with proper detail which I liked. He was honest with the answers and provided all the artefacts that were helping me to understand the game better. I was a little hesitant to join the game in the beginning because it is a new project and don't know how it will work but as I already said that with any project team is an important part so if they are doing good then the same reflection can be seen in the project growth. I'm not sure how this game will do but the way they are working hard to make it more popular and grow it shows that things are on the right track. There is a higher probability for the game to do well and we know that we have so many games available on the blockchain but not every game is successful but the ones that are focusing on the community and delivering what is needed are good in this space.


### Steps to Buy Onix

The steps to buy packs in the game is easy however it may look a bit complicated in the beginning but actually it is not since I have gone through the same so I found it much easier. Maybe I'll record a video about sharing these steps later which I hope will be helpful for many of you to understand but here I am listing out some eg steps that are good to follow and can help you to start your journey with the Army of Crypto game.

* We need to have an Onyx token in the wallet to buy the pack because this is the native token of the blockchain.
* Buying this token is very easy because they have integrated HBD and hive both on their platform so we can get the tokens just by using the swap function. We just need to send the HBD or hive from our account to their official @onixcoinofficial account by mentioning the Onyx wallet address in the memo. although the token is listed on exchanges so if you want then you can also buy from there however I believe for the hive users the easiest way would be to follow this.
* You should be getting Onix in your wallet address provided in a few minutes and in my case, it took 3-4 minutes approximately. Please note that it must mention the Onix wallet address in the memo while sending hive/HBD

### Initial Investing can be a good deal

Based on my experience I can say that investing during initial days can be more profitable on any project. It's like early investors are rewarded well when the project grows and following the same I have joined this game but I know that there is a lot for me to learn in terms of playing the game. I know this part can be explored later but before that, I have gone through the overall game and the token economy along with their road map and what they are planning to build in the next few months. I admit that it is not the best game at the moment but no game becomes best from the day one hence everything needs time to grow and I'm sure with the upgrades we are going to see a lot coming up.

The [token](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token) has also shown positive moments since a lot of people are joining the game and it is a requirement for them to buy tokens so that packs can be bought. Here is the snapshot of my 6-pack purchase this cost me $60 along with a discount of 50% since one pack cost $20 in a normal scenario. I'm happy that they have given me a 50% discount on the buy so I could get double the packs for the same amount and this promotion is still ongoing so if you are planning to join a game then it can be a good time to start with it.

I bought more tokens to avoid any shortage so send 65 [HBD](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-hive-backed-dollar-hbd) and got over 31k Onix tokens out of which I paid 28k approx for the purchase. I also got 1777 hertz as an additional benefit and this can be used to buy in-game assets.

### Token price

The token price has also started increasing gradually and probably I purchased at a bit low [price](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-price) which is a good thing for me. This is not financial advice but its expected for the price to go high and we also have the option to stake and earn some APR. This APR is not fixed however I have not used this option till now but will be doing it shortly. 

There has been fantastic growth in token price and it shows that the project is getting more attention from players and investors.

### Conclusion

Now I am onboarded on the game and these days I am trying to explore different web3 games so there is another addition to my ageing portfolio. I will be exploring more about the game including the gameplay and will be sharing about it in my future posts.
