Engaging with others is often one of the best ways to validate an idea, gather suggestions and proposals to make it even more interesting, or discover alternative routes you hadn't considered. And that’s exactly what happened to me after I talked [in this post](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-easy-doesnt-mean-ineffective) about my upcoming plan to convert all my DEC into HBD so I could take advantage of a 15% APR while waiting for some good buying opportunities on Splinterlands. It seemed like a simple but effective idea: both DEC and HBD are stablecoins, but the latter allows staking rewards with an APR currently at 15%, so it made sense to convert the former into the latter to increase my earnings without taking on any risk — *actually reducing it, since HBD is much more stable than DEC.* However, after publishing the post, I received some very useful feedback from two users who often leave extremely insightful comments and help me with several of my decisions regarding Splinterlands. I'm talking once again about @davideownzall and @tarabh: <center>  </center><center><sub>@davideownzall’s comment...</sub></center> <center>  </center><center><sub>... and @tarabh’s comment</sub></center> Both basically gave me the same advice: slightly increase the risk profile to aim for higher rewards. <br> ## <center>Waiting for the Right Moment</center> I often find myself trying to do things in a rush, even when there’s no real reason for it and, worse, when it can even be counterproductive. Right now, for instance, the value of HIVE is extremely low, and it seems **very likely**, though not certain, that in the future we might see a pump or at least the token’s value return to its more usual price range, between 25 and 30 cents. So once it was pointed out to me, I realized how easily my idea could be improved: okay, convert DEC into HBD… but why not pause for a moment at the intermediate step, i.e., converting DEC into HIVE, and wait for a price increase? Then I could convert HIVE into HBD (or back into DEC) at a much better rate. <center>  </center> And that’s exactly what I did: I converted 10,500 DEC into 48.90 SWAP.HIVE while HIVE’s value is still very low (\$0.20). Now I can wait for the price to rise and receive in return more DEC than I originally had. Or I could even power up this HIVE to earn an additional 10% in rewards in the meantime. In that case, however, I’d need to find a way to get those HIVE back in liquid form in less than 13 weeks. One way would be to start a power down of an amount 13 times larger and stop it after the first week… but the only account where I could apply this strategy is my main one, where I currently don’t want to do anything like that. Confrontarsi è infatti in genere uno dei modi migliori per validare un'idea, per raccogliere suggerimenti e proposte per renderla ancora più interessante o per scoprire strade alternative che non si erano considerate. E questo è proprio quello che mi è successo dopo aver parlato [in questo post](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-easy-doesnt-mean-ineffective) della mia imminente intenzione di convertire tutto il mio DEC in HBD così da poter sfruttare un 15% di APR nel mentre che attendevo qualche buona occasione per fare nuovi acquisti su Splinterlands. Mi sembrava un'idea semplice ma funzionale: sia DEC che HBD sono due stablecoins, ma la seconda consente di ottenere ricompense da staking con un APR che, attualmente, è pari al 15%, per cui sembrava sensato convertire la prima nella seconda per aumentare i miei guadagni senza assumermi alcun rischio - *anzi, riducendoli anche, perchè HDB è molto più stabile di DEc.* Dopo aver pubblicato il post ho però ricevuto alcuni feedback molto utili da due utenti che spesso mi lasciano commenti estremamente interessanti e che mi aiutano a prendere diverse delle mie decisioni su Splinterlands. Parlo nuovamente di @davideownzall e @tarabh: <center>  </center><center><sub>il commento di @davideownzall...</sub></center> <center>  </center><center><sub>... e quello di @tarabh</sub></center> Entrambi mi hanno, in pratica, dato lo stesso consiglio: aumenta leggermente il profilo di rischio per puntare ad ottenere ricompense maggiori. <br> ## <center>L'attesa del momento giusto</center> Spesso infatti mi ritrovo a cercare di fare le cose di corsa, anche quando non solo non ce n'è motivo ma, anzi, la cosa è pure controproducente. In questo momento, infatti, il valore di HIVE è estremamente basso e sembra **molto probabile**, per quanto non certo, che in futuro potremmo vedere qualche pump o, quantomeno, il valore del token tornare nel range di prezzo che gli è più consono, ossia tra i 25 ed i 30 centesimi. Ecco quindi che, una volta che mi è stato fatto notare, mi accorgo di come la mia idea fosse molto facilmente migliorabile: ok convertire DEC in HBD... ma perchè non fermarmi un attimo allo step intermedio, ossia alla conversione DEC-HIVE, in attesa di un aumento di prezzo? Così poi da poter convertire HIVE in HBD (o in DEC) ad un tasso molto più conveniente? <center>  </center> Ed è quindi esattamente quello che ho fatto: ho convertito 10500 DEC in 48.90 SWAP.HIVE mentre il valore di HIVE è ancora molto basso (0.20$). Adesso posso attendere che il prezzo salga per ottenere in cambio una quantità maggiore di DEC di quella che avevo all'inizio. Oppure potrei anche fare un power up di questi HIVE, così da ottenere nel mentre un ulteriore 10% di ricompense. In questo caso, però, dovrei trovare il modo di poter tornare in possesso dei miei HIVE in forma liquidi in un tempo più breve di 13 settimane. Un modo sarebbe quello di avviare un power down di importo 13 volte maggiore e stopparlo dopo la prima settimana... ma l'unico account su cui potrei attuare questa strategia è il mio principale, sul quale però al momento non voglio fare niente del genere.
