As most of you know from either watching Roczens crash at round six in San Deigo or from my post [**here**](https://steemit.com/motocross/@b0y2k/inhury-update-ken-roczen), Roczen's had was in bad shape after being dragged into the back wheel of Cooper Webbs Yamaha in the Main Event. Roczen and Honda have updated everyone as to the extent of the damage and it seem's it is worse than it first appeared.

Roczen went in for surgery in Steadman Clinic in Colorado over the weekend to get him all fixed up, here are the statements.

# Honda HRC
> "On Friday, Ken Roczen underwent successful surgery at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO, to repair injuries sustained during his crash in San Diego. Unfortunately, the damage was more extensive than originally diagnosed. During surgery, Dr. Viola cleaned up a chip at the base of the thumb and hook of hamate, repaired the fractured second metacarpal with a plate and screws, and also repaired torn ligaments. The initial prognosis is six to eight weeks, but Roczen will be reevaluated throughout his recovery. He will still attend multiple races and dealer appearances throughout the remainder of the season. Everyone at Honda wishes you a speedy recovery and can't wait to have you back out there." It remains to be seen if Roczen will attempt to return before the end of Monster Energy Supercross or just turn his attention to the outdoors.

# Ken Roczen
**Honda HRC**
> "Once again there was a lot going on here. Shattered hand, dislocation of all metacarpals and torn ligaments. Been in a lot of pain since the surgery. Sometimes we get tested in life. We take care of this sh*t, come back and try this again."

This is a major setback for Roczen no matter how positive his thoughts are and also how they downplay the issue. I'm gutted for him as i know how hard he has worked on getting back to where he was before the big off. I really hope that his hand isn't too bad and that he regains full motion as if he doesn't i fear that will be the end for him racing at the highest level. That is not something i would want for anyone, especially given the talent and dedication he has.
