I was making a video of Pelumi’s new stocks when Nofisat knocked on the door. 

“It’s me, Nofisat,” I became happy when I heard that voice. After six years of our high school graduation, we three friends never had the opportunity to link up but Pelumi’s new perfume business made us to go congratulate her in her new shop. 

“Nofisat!!! It’s been years,” I screamed and lifted her up after we hugged. I thought she would have been very fat and gigantic but I was all wrong. We both are still very much slim and we are still of the same height. 

“You’ve not added weight as well and I like this dress but should be cheaper than what I’m putting on,” that’s how Nofisat took off the smile on my face with the words she said. 
Pelumi sighted my confused look but beckoned at me not to make any comment nor talk back at her. 
We were basically celebrating and I wouldn’t want to ruin the day so I kept mute and kept arranging those perfumes.

“Pelumi, this perfume rack isn’t bad but I feel you could have used the one in my shop instead. You know that’s better and more expensive,” I was already raging in anger when Nofisat said these words. 
Pelumi is just a new business owner who’s managing her funds so she can put them all together and the least thing we all can do is support her. 

“Must you always comment…” I felt bad that Pelumi didn’t let me complete my statement. She beckoned at me again and I listened even though I was very angry her portraying her **sour grapes** attitude. 
So that we all will be able to focus on arranging the perfumes, Pelumi turned on her speaker and put it on the highest volume so that we all can mind our business by singing along to the music and arranging the perfume. 

Suddenly, we heard the shattering sound of a perfume glass. It was a bittersweet moment for me. The bitter part was that, Pelumi hadn’t sold anything yet but having losses already but the sweet moment was that the bottle of perfum fell from Nofisat’s hand. 
All I expected from Pelumi was to tell Nofisat to leave the shop. 

“Who knows if she intentionally broke the bottle of perfume because of her jealousy?” I said that in my mind while waiting for Pelumi’s judgement. 

“I said it! Mere looking at the bottles of these perfumes, I sensed that they were all fake but I didn’t want to be too forward,” how dare Nofisat say these words after breaking the most expensive perfume in the store. This time, I didn’t wait for Pelumi to beckon at me and I didn’t wait for her to give me a go ahead before I could say or do anything.

“Where does your loyalty lie, Nofisat? Ever since we got here, you’ve been busy making bad complements about the hardwork that this lady has done and you did the highest of it all which is breaking the most expensive perfume. What’s the assurance that you didn’t do that intentionally?” I exclaimed. 

What got me angry the most is her nonchalant attitude towards the perfume that got broken. There was no single sign about her feeling remorseful.

“If you can’t help me, you could have said it. I thought we all are friends and that’s why I called on you two to help me arrange and also celebrate with me. This perfume that got broken is eighty dollars which can buy ten different kinds of perfumes here and the height of it all is you do not even care about it. Just get out,” Pelumi said. 

I so much dislike jealousy and I always shun every form of it. Just because I’ve been longing to see Pelumi send Nofisat away from the shop, I rushed to the glass door and opened the door for Nofisat to leave our midst. 

“You can use the door,” I said while pointing outside of the shop. 

Maybe she’s going to beg us, that’s what I thought but I was amazed when she majestically walked out of the shop while she hissed at us. 

At last, we heard that Nofisat’s business crumbled two months ago so I already sensed why she was acting jealous. We apologized for sending her out of the shop even though she was wrong but we did that for peace to reign and we became friends again but never shared our accomplishments with her anymore.
