The CHAP'py Experience, Bohol, Philippines
Hello, hivers! It's the weekend again!

As I was scrolling on my Facebook for videos that I might enjoy watching, I scrolled across ***Biyahe ni Drew***, a Pinoy travel show. In his travel vlog, he showed his adventures in Bohol and there was this exact place he went to where we were able to visit also when we traveled to Bohol. So I was thinking of sharing that experience here too.

The place is called Chocolate Hills Adventure Park (CHAP). CHAP is an ecotourism adventure park located in Batuan, Bohol. It is one of the places you can drop by when you will go on a day tour in Bohol.

I am a fan of adventure parks. I love adrenalin-rushing activities for the sake of experiencing them to satisfy my curiosity. I may try bungee jumping soon. Haha! I don't think I can do it. It's fun and exciting. So, when the van driver suggested us this place, I was excited and happy to experience another unforgettable activity in Bohol.

Upon arriving at the area, you will have to enter a large gate with the name of the place carved on an arc. It felt like I was entering a jungle with all the greeneries around. There weren't many people too.

Walking father inside there is a short bridge that leads to a building or a function hall where a receptionist will assist you with the things you need or where you pay the fees for the different activities you want to try. She will present to you the different activities they offer and the corresponding fees. Upon paying you are ready to take on the adventure. A guide will lead the way.

I like the chandelier hanging on the ceiling and the ambiance of the place. Just behind this building is where the adventure and fun begin.

We first tried the less exciting and simple activity which is crossing the hanging bridge. It was just like walking in the park hanging in between trees. It was easy and fun but it felt closer to nature as you heard the insect's sounds and the birds chirping.

The next activity or the main activity that we were to do was the bicycle zipline. But before we got there, we walked about a four hundred steps up to the location. It was a great way to warm up and loosen up before the nerve-wracking experience. As we ascend, we were greeted with beautiful scenery of nature with a cool wind blowing. We broke a sweat and our knees were a little shaky but it was relieved by the beauty that surround us.

We finally arrived at the top where there was a viewing deck. The best beauty unfolded before our eyes as we had a 360° view of the Chocolate Hills. The hills were surrounded by greeneries and backdropped by the blue sky with cotton clouds. The Chocolate Hills are spread over an area of 50 square kilometers. No wonder it looked endless. It was astonishing! The hills were colored brown just like chocolates. The browning of the hills happens when the grasses die due to the hot weather.

After we took in some fresh air and filled our eyes with the amazing beauty of the hills, we were ready to take on the challenge of bicycle zip lining. We proceeded to the activity area just a few steps away from the viewing deck.

It was my sister-in-law who took on the challenge first. The staff put on her safety gear while explaining to us what to do and not what to and in case we get stuck up in the air, he taught us how to use hand signals and reminded us to just relax. He assured us that the equipment they used were safe and secure.

Here, I think she was having second thoughts about doing it. Hahaha! I could feel her getting nervous so I kept encouraging her and telling her it would be ok and it would be fun.

After a few moments, she was finally on track pedaling towards the other hill. While I watched her go, the staff told me to get ready and to ride the bicycle. During this time, was the moment I realized I f****d up. I was getting nervous but excited at the same time. My mind was battling if I should do it or not. My hands were sweating. I was scared. Hahaha. But when the staff told me to " go ahead ma'am", I snapped out of my nervousness and just did as they say.

I calmed myself thinking this was just the same as zipline. When you're on the wires it would feel good and the nervousness would be gone as you enjoy the view below. Or so I thought.

The bicycle zipline was nerve-wracking. Zipline is a walk in the park but this isn't. As you pedal on the wires it gets scarier as the wind blows. I could feel my body blown to the left or right depending on where the direction of the wind as it blows. The wires swayed as the wind blows and you could feel them moving. I remembered telling myself to pedal faster so I can get to the next hill faster and end this misery. I was crying silently in my mind saying "mirisi". Hahaha! When I finally got to the end of the wire or the next hill, I told the staff that I wanted to get off and just walk my way back but he said I cannot do it. I need to go back.

I had no choice but to get on the bike and went back. I held on tightly to the bicycle's handle and pedaled as fast as I could. After the ride, I felt my mouth dry while my hands were sweating. I told myself I will never do it again. But I was happy and proud of myself for trying it. It was such an unforgettable experience.

We asked the staff to take a few more photos of us after the ride.

After the ride, we head back down to where our van was waiting for us for our next destination.

I love the experience and probably will do another adrenalin-rushing activity soon. But next time I will choose the less scary ones. 🤪

Some more photos of this wonderful place.
