Today I collected a bunch of old reflections found in forgotten folders that I rarely visit. All the photographs were taken in 2015. <a href="https://images.ecency.com/DQmWxiJ1pReyA6jGRDom2BvQLC3w1hX1ZgLxytrnd33jw9h/dsc06866_izhoshtreno.jpg"><img src="https://images.ecency.com/DQmWxiJ1pReyA6jGRDom2BvQLC3w1hX1ZgLxytrnd33jw9h/dsc06866_izhoshtreno.jpg"></a> (Enlargeable) In this evening shot from July 2015, you can see a little egret (Egretta garzetta) in the calm water of the large pond on the outskirts of Medulin, my hometown. I think that I'll choose this opening photograph for the contest entry, but I'm not completely sure right now. Maybe I'll change my mind as the post continues.  This is an eight-year younger me, frozen in time as a reflection in the bathroom mirror. Is basically a selfie. But is also a reflection so it deserves to be part of today's post.  It was late evening, almost night when this photograph was taken. It happened on the 26th of October 2015. You can see the branches of a tall coniferous tree reflected in three mirror-like surfaces on one of the apartment buildings near the seaside promenade, here in my hometown.  The reflection looks like a shadow in this shot. I was standing in the shadows, in one of the muddy inlets of the bay near the harbor of Liznjan. The tide was very low. Liznjan is for me the nearest village. Only a couple of kilometers from where I live. <a href="https://images.ecency.com/DQmczdny3P2TCj7bQLVZtE1KmDJeDd3kU3yLvuvXoZ6cE69/dsc09911_izhoshtreno.jpg"><img src="https://images.ecency.com/DQmczdny3P2TCj7bQLVZtE1KmDJeDd3kU3yLvuvXoZ6cE69/dsc09911_izhoshtreno.jpg"></a> (Enlargeable) In this photograph, taken on the same occasion, the reflection reveals more details of the eight-year younger me reflected in the muddy shallows. You can, for example, see that I had a hat on my head. In the following shot ...  ... the bubbles have ruined the reflection.  Here you can see a swallow near the pond. And the bird's reflection, of course. Swallows come here to get the mud for the construction of their nests.  In this last photograph, you can see the grey heron (Ardea cinerea) and the little egret (Egretta garzetta) from the opening shot, next to each other. Always on the same pond.
