I think we can all agree one of the things that makes Hive so special is the community behind it. Sure, fast fee-less transactions are great and all, but if there aren't people here to take advantage of those things, then what is the point?

Community is what keeps us coming back here every day during the ups and downs of the market and everything in between. Believe it or not, it is also a community that has grown in huge ways over the years. We still aren't at that mass adoption point, but the Hive we are using today is a far different place than it was a year ago. I should mention it's also light years ahead of where I started 4+ years ago.

Inside this awesome community that we share are now hundreds if not thousands of sub communities that have sprung up over the years. Pretty much every (major) topic that you can think of has some form of community. Some have a token behind the and are thriving. Some are just a small group of individuals with a common interest.

Which is why I am writing this post today...

I'm part of the [Whiskey/Whisky](https://peakd.com/c/hive-185131/created) community. It was started by @steevc and it is a pretty cool place if I do say so myself.

I'm on a couple of Whiskey related Sub Reddits and it is insane the volume of content that gets posted over there. In the past decade, the whiskey market has grown in huge ways and along with it the number of people who consume it.

[Don't believe me?](https://trulyexperiences.com/blog/when-did-american-whiskey-get-so-popular/#:~:text=While%20most%20domestically%20produced%20whiskey,domestic%20sales%20topped%20%242.4%20billion.)

My point is, given the popularity of all things Whiskey these days, I feel like we should be having a lot more people post in this community that just the moderators every couple of months.

I jumped into the [Bro (Mancave)](https://peakd.com/@brofund) Discord server the other day to reach out to them about using some of their stake to focus some light curation on our community because honestly what is more manly than whiskey?

I wasn't able to get in touch with anyone before I had to go to bed, so if you see this @raymondspeaks let me know.

My hope is to just get a promise from some of these curation projects that they will try to put more eyes on our community. Then, I can write a post saying "hey, if you post (a quality post) in the Whisky/Whiskey community, you might get a vote from one of these curation projects.

I think there are a lot of smaller communities in a similar position. No second layer token, so people tend to overlook them. I know there are already some big curation projects out there that find communities to incubate. I encourage them not to forget the smaller communities as well.

I'm not saying you need to drop 100% upvotes, but even a dedicated 5% every now and then is much appreciated.

If you run a curation project and you would like to throw some support our way, let me know in the comments. Do you know of a curation project I should specifically reach out to? Let me know that too.

I think the latest post eligible for rewards in the Whisky/Whiskey community is mine, so if you feel compelled to start supporting us, just skip that one and wait for someone else to post something. I just want to see the community grow to what I know it can be.
