It's a bit hard to believe that it has been over a week that my friend went to the hospital. After a really long and scary night sitting with @diamonddave's wife last Monday, I am happy to say that he is somewhat on the other side of this thing.

The first thing the doctors had to fix was the lack of blood flow to his small intestine. After they got a stint put in and that sorted away, they had to go back in and remove the parts of the small intestine that were dead.

After five days and five surgeries they finally reconnected the less than 50% of what was left of his bowels. They also had to remove a toe that had gotten infected. It's been a struggle for him and he still has a lot of recovery ahead of him. It took several days for them to be able to take him off sedation, but he is awake and alert.

He is still processing everything that has happened and everything he has to face ahead of him. @mrsbozz and I haven't been to see him yet as we are allowing his family to spend some much needed time with him. The prolonged sedation and required time on a ventilator has caused some heart and lung issues that they are keeping an eye on, but as I said, he is doing PT, he is talking, and he is breathing on his own.

I wouldn't be shocked if he is ready to have more visitors besides his family in the next couple of days.

Sometime in 2023 I bought tickets for @diamonddave and I to go see Buddy Guy on his farewell concert tour. He was coming to a small local venue and knowing how much my friend likes blues music, I thought it would be a cool show to go to. Unfortunately, Buddy Guy got sick and they had to postpone the show for nearly a year.

This Friday is the new date for the show, and it looks like @mrsbozz is going to have to be my concert buddy for this one. I doubt there is much chance that they will let @diamonddave out of the hospital for something like this.

I'm not sure I would want him anyway, he needs to focus on healing right now. Even though I know it is for the best, it's still not going to be the same without him there next to me.

It only make sense that I choose the blues for this weeks #threetunetuesday theme sponsored by @ablaze.

Since we are going to see Buddy Guy, it felt only right to start off my post this week with a video of him. This video was posted 13 years ago, so you can only imagine how old Buddy is now. I think it's something like 88 years last I checked. Which makes it pretty unsurprising that they had to postpone the show when he got sick.

I honestly think there was a part of me that was wondering if they were just going to cancel it, or if he would even make it that long.

Thankfully, he has and although I will be the first to admit that I don't know a lot of Buddy Guy's work, I am still excited to see him. I mentioned this fact to @mrsbozz the other day and she asked how much I thought we could get for the tickets if we sold them. I think there are still seats available, so probably not much!

Being a lover of all types of music, I'm not too worried about the fact that I don't know a lot of Buddy's catalog. All that matters is that he is a blues legend and I get to see him in three days or so. It's going to be a great show no matter what.

According to the Internet, "Damn Right, I've Got The Blues" is one of Buddy's most well known songs, so I figured it was a good one to share here.

Like me, many of you might be most familiar with Jeff Healey from his cameo in the movie Roadhouse starring Patrick Swayze. He was the leader of the house band at the Double Deuce and his music played a pretty prominent role throughout the movie. He even has a few good one liners in the movie as well.

Jeff hails from Canada and after going blind at the young age of one, he had to adapt an interesting method of playing the guitar. While many might consider this music more of a southern rock, it still has many elements of blues in it and if you were to listen to some of Jeff's other stuff, you wouldn't have any doubt about his style of music.

In fact, if you do a Google search on Jeff Healey, you will find that he can actually play a wide variety of music styles. Although "See The Light" is the song I picked to share with you today, many of you might be more familiar with his biggest hit "Angel Eyes".

Sadly, Jeff passe away back in 2008 at the very young age of 41. Which sucks quite honestly, because it would have been really cool to see him in concert some day. Thankfully, we have streaming music and YouTube to remember just how amazing he was.

You might be wondering how I can write a post about the Blues and not talk about BB King. Well, King is great, but I wanted to go back a little further and talk about one of the masters of the genre. Like many other forms of music, there are various forms of the Blues. There is a Chicago style along with "Delta Blues", and many other forms.

Robert Johnson was born in 1911 and is considered one of the greatest Blues musicians of all time. He had a lot of mythology surrounding him (like the fact that he sold his soul to the devil to earn musical fame), and even today, there is still a lot about him we don't know.

There is speculation that he was poisoned or outright killed by the husband of a woman he was flirting with, but nobody really knows. His recording career only lasted about seven months, but he played live shows in the deep south to much fanfare.

Although his actual career and life was short, his influence can be seen in many of the greats including Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, and countless others. He was only 27 when he died, so if you believe that stuff about the [27 Club](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/27_Club), he is in the list.
