Daily procession
Of lunacy & competence,
Sooner be handicapped than silenced!

But with with a stewing conciousness
Nihilist-inclined construct imploding
Eroding youth's enthusiastic tines

Tones strike the hour, asking
Why is sanity sour? Scouring sobriety,
Lectures of impropriety through example.

Simpering compliments scald, substanceless
Craving for a transcendent understanding
Leaves one out of breathless criticism.

Death or life a crawlspace,
Dawn and dusk of incoherence or grace
The path is recognizable but blurred.

Absurd procession:
The moon eats the hours
And the sun, human limbs.

So today is technically supposed to be my day off, but if I don't write a poem a day... I'm not sure, I think I might spontaneously combust. This one is dedicated to anyone who has ever begun to suspect that reality is, in fact, not normal at all. It is totally absurd, at least from the perspective of a linear consciousness! Quite incomprehensible. Yet, we create art to encapsulate the grand diversity of our responses to life's mystery. Ever falling short, and ever arising again...
