I just received a call from a friend who invited us to the house of one of her relatives who left her in care with the commission to get rid of some things, she told me to go to see if I was interested in anything, the first thing I saw when I arrived were a couple of bicycles and I asked her for them, to which she replied that I could take them with me.

They came at the right time, my youngest daughter is about to have her birthday so it is a good time to repair the bike for girls and give it to her as a gift, she has never had a bike so she will be very excited, but I am more excited because I can not believe how good the bike is, after checking it very well I realized that I can make it operative quickly and with a minimum investment.
>LLegaron en el momento preciso, mi hija menor está por cumplir años así que es buen momento para reparar la bicicleta para niñas y dársela como obsequio, jamas a tenido una bicicleta así que va a estar muy emocionada, pero mas emocionado estoy yo porque no puedo creer el buen estado que tiene la bicicleta, luego de revisarle muy bien me di cuenta que puedo ponerla operativa rápidamente y con una minima inversion.

The brake system works well, is cable, all bearings are in good condition, the chain is also in good condition, only has some rust in some parts, the tires if they are somewhat worn but still has life, the only thing that is bad are the tubes of the tires that for so long stored by the weight of the bike were damaged.
>El sistema de frenos funciona bien, es de guaya, todos los rodamientos estan en buen estado, la cadena tambien lo esta, solo tiene algo de oxido en algunas partes, los cauchos si están algo desgastados pero aún tiene vida, lo unico que esta malo son las tripas de los cauchos que por tanto tiempo guardadas por el peso de la bicicleta se dañaron.

So what I set out to do was to replace both tubes, I had years without repairing a bike, the last one I had was more than 20 years ago, but I think that just as they say that you never forget to ride them, you also never forget to repair them, so I looked for the replacement tubes and for 5$ USD I bought them both.
>Así que lo que me dispuse fue a reemplazar ambas tripas, tenía años sin reparar una bicicleta, la última que tuve fue hace mas de 20 años, pero creo que asi como dicen que jamas se olvida manejarlas, también no se olvida repararlas, fue así que busque las tripas de reemplazo y por 5$ USD compre ambas.

With a 13 mm die I was able to unscrew the nuts to disassemble both rubbers, thank goodness it was not a larger size, because most of my tools are small as my vehicle does not use sizes larger than this.
>Con un dado de 13 mm pude desajustar las tuercas para desmontar ambos cauchos, menos mal que no era una medida mayor, porque la mayoría de mis herramientas son pequeñas ya que mi vehículo no utiliza medidas superiores a esta.

Indeed the tubes that I had were in bad shape due to the weight of the bike being deflated, that caused a hole that could well put a patch, but I preferred to put a new tube. This was also an opportunity to teach my oldest son how to do this process, the new generations only know about electronic devices and internet.
>Efectivamente las tripas que tenía estaban en mal estado debido al peso de la bicicleta al estar desinfladas, eso le causó un agujero que bien podía colocarle un parcho, pero preferí colocarle una tripa nueva. Esta fue una oportunidad también para enseñarle a mi hijo mayor como hacer este proceso, las nuevas generaciones solo saben de dispositivos electrónicos e internet.

Putting air into the rubber was a bit uncomfortable because the manual air pump that I had kept for many years had lost the hose that connects to the air valve, but with some ingenuity we were able to place it and put air little by little.
>Colocarle aire a los caucho si fue un poco incomodó porque la bomba de aire manual que tenía guardada desde hace muchos años se le extravio la manguera que se conecta a la válvula de aire, pero con algo de ingenio logramos colocarla y le pusimos aire poco a poco.

In the end both tires were with their new tube and the bike ready to be used, soon I will deliver it to my daughter on her birthday, I just have to repair the other bike for my oldest son, but that requires more investment and work, in the coming days I hope to share the process with you.
>Al final ambos cauchos quedaron con su tripa nueva y la bicicleta lista para ser usada, pronto le hare entrega a mi hija en su cumpleaños, solo me queda reparar la otra bicicleta para mi hijo mayor, pero esa si requiere de mas inversion y trabajo, en los proximos dias espero compartir el proceso con ustedes.
