I remember when I first discovered that PeakD wasn’t the only interface there is to the Hive Blockchain. I discovered the likes of Hive.Blog, Leofinance and Ecency. Ecency struck me for so many reasons, especially the web-app before I finally downloaded the app. 

It was so smooth. It gave me the feeling of home. I hope I don’t sound like a mad person but yes, I always felt good when using Ecency. I have no idea why and I still do. Let me highlight a few things that stand out for me on Ecency. Things that I make use of everyday and of course, I will drop one of my wishes (not a suggestion), something that would be nothing but a gift. 

# **Leaderboard**

The first thing that I noticed was the Leaderboard. It was motivation enough to get engaging on Hive. Case in point, my sister @obifavvy. She was so elated to see herself topping the Leaderboard. She was also awarded some Hive and Ecency points. You needed to see how happy she was. It made me laugh but yeah, that is the magic of Ecency. 

# **Ecency Points**

I recently found out you can use this to get a HP delegation? I had no idea. I left a comment asking the person how this works. Please, how does this work? I do know that I can use Ecency points to promote posts. I used it a lot back in the day, promoting posts I thought were good for as long as 14 days. I still do now, but occasionally. 

# **Notifications**

I think this is the strongest feature for me. I love how Ecency keeps me on top of things. I have some accounts I follow and get notified of. Every reply and reblog is brought to my knowledge. I love how easy Ecency made it. It reminds me so much of any other social media platform. Oh yeah, get this. One time, a colleague of mine was playing around with my phone when a notification dropped from Ecency about a reblog of my post. “You have a blog?” was the question she asked. Of course from there I went on to explain what Hive was and what Ecency is as a frontend. 

# **Trading Tokens**

Till today, when I want to quickly swap HBD to HIVE and vice versa, I use Ecency. I prefer the web version for this because I get to use my keychain extension as the app requires the use of Hive Signer. I am not a fan of Hive Signer, it is easier with Keychain honestly. Trading tokens is so easy with Ecency and takes less than a minute. Have you ever tried it?

Here is the thing. Between the web-app and the app itself, I will go for the app with exception to the trading of tokens. I find the one click, at-the-tip-of-my-finger a turn on. All I just have to do is reach into my purse when I’m bored and follow up on my activities. I also find that I prefer posting from the mobile app compared to the web-app. There is also this thing where I can copy  from the web-app but can’t from the mobile app. For instance, I want to make a comment on a particular paragraph or line in a post. I can copy from the web-app and go do my thing in the comment section but I can't do that on the mobile app. Like, what’s up with that? I’m thinking maybe it’s an anti plagiarism thing?

I haven’t tried Ecency Waves but I keep seeing it recommended in almost every post to this prompt. I see why. I know threads but I haven’t tried waves. That I will try out soon. Now, as for my wish. Would it ever be possible to incorporate Voice Notes? I am laughing typing this but hear me out. What if I can leave my voice in the comments with a transcription to those who can’t play it? A transcription that can be translated to many other languages? 

Which reminds me. Ecency app has the translation feature. Have you seen that? Although I use it just for my comment section. I’m not sure of the entire post. I haven’t checked for that. Back on track - a voice note would not be such a bad idea but of course, this is only on my wishlist. 

If I want to talk about the Ecency Community, I may just have to do the right thing. Apart from the developers, the members are so nice! I remember one so special, she’s with the Angels now. She used to host shows with my friend, Tengolotodo on the Ecency discord. Of course, what will we do without lovely and bright Melinda? The woman who goes around distributing Ecency love. When I think Ecency, she’s the first I see in my head. Especially her little 1’s and 0’s. It makes me laugh. I wonder what that signifies. Of course, Good-Karma. The man. I remember how fast he was in getting to me about an issue I had with my keys and how easy going he was from the tone of his message. They are beautiful people. 

I love what Ecency represents. Not just an app, or the Hive blockchain, but essence. The people from the makers to the members and contributors, we are all *Ecencial*!
