Dreams have always been a part of my life. Whether I am asleep or awake, I dream and while the dreams I have with my eyes open are more self-controlled, when I sleep it is very different.

My dreams can go from good to awry in a second or whatever time frame exists in the dream world. In fact, some of my stories are a result of my dreams. My dreams are triggered by what I experience much like others. If I am stressed, sad or depressed, I am plagued by nightmares that jerk me awake at 3am. I dread sleep then because these dreams are so vivid it almost feels like I am in a different world. 

There are dreams I can't forget. Like the one that I was stranded in a dark place and was chased by a character I despise. Or when I saw my aunt dressed in white stained with blood. When I held the head of a friend who was brutally murdered and put together like a ragdoll. These are just some of them. They got worse. 

There was one when I was in Nursery. I remember because it is hands down the most scary I have ever dreamed. I came home from school and tried getting into the house. All of a sudden, it turned dark and there was a force preventing me from going in. I dropped my lunch box and pushed with all my might. Finally, the door opened barely and I saw the most horrendous face ever, eyes glossy and dead, hair was low and the skin flaky. I jerked up screaming that night. My mom had to hold me to sleep. 

I grew and then I dreamt more horrible things but then another was watching a storm set in. The skies grew dark and the sun turned red and scorching. There was a tree that never stopped growing and it seemed like the sky had been rolled to look like a carpet. I remember people running. I remember running and running straight into something like a ditch. 

I dreamt two years ago of a friend. I was looking for her and then I got a box delivered to me. It was her head with something of iron rings sewn on it… I woke up with a start. It was 3am and I couldn’t go back to sleep. 

Nightmares have been a part of my sleep for as long as I can remember, but I have good dreams too. One particular dream has repeated itself more than three times and each time I am in the midst of the same people. Very Influential people. 

I even had a dream of shaking hands with Lt. Queen Elizabeth and a few days later, I heard of her passing. I have vivid dreams of influential people and each time, I am doing the same thing; taking notes, exchanging ideas and shaking hands. I have seen myself numerous times with a microphone in my dreams. 

I remember my dreams, live them even. They are so vivid, so clear it is almost like I am in a parallel universe when I close my eyes.
