Right now there is high demand for remote jobs. For many employees they are determined to quit their job rather than be forced back into the office and because of that preference there are many employers who have already made permanent changes to adapt to this trend. 

There are many reasons why someone might want to work from home, it saves time and money in multiple ways. 

Not only can working a remote job be convenient as far as travel and daily cost/time but it can also possibly be immune to certain disruptions. 

In the UK they are seeing the biggest rail strike that they have seen in some time and it has reportedly sent the search for remote jobs skyrocketing.

The fear over the inconvenience that those rail strikes might cause is no doubt pushing many to go looking if they have not been searching already. 

But for those remote jobs that are available there is a great deal of demand and that means that those employers can be more competitive knowing that these are the most highly coveted positions right now. 

For those who do intend on forcing employees back to the office, even though a work from home or hybrid solution might be perfectly viable, they might eventually find they have a difficult time keeping the position filled.
